Hazardous Waste Helpers Wanted
The fall Household Hazardous Waste drive will take place on
October 19th from 8:00 a.m. to 12 noon in the Valley Presbyterian
Church parking lot. Pat Sharpe is recruiting about 80 volunteers
to log in cars, unload vehicles, and sort waste by category. The March
2013 drive was a huge success. Because so many of the spring volunteers
were snowbirds and will not return until later in the fall, the
committee is hoping to get some new volunteers--hopefully some from
EEHOA. A 2-hour training session is required. If you'd like to
volunteer, you can email Joe McCalpin at
bmccalpin@cox.net or Pat Sharpe at
pasharpe2002@yahoo.com. Or you can call Joe at 867-8067 or Pat at
625-7716.
The Board Is Back
The September meeting of the EEHOA Board will take place on Monday,
September 16, at 1:00 at the Ramada. All residents are encouraged to
attend.
September Gathering Draws Crowd
Temperatures passing the century mark didn't dampen the enthusiasm of
EE's summer residents last Thursday. By Tom Cooke's count, 46 neighbors
arrived at the Ramada for cocktails and hor's dourves. As usual there
was more food than twice that number could have consumed and enough
drinks to quench everyone's thirst. Many thanks to the Scottie Blum
and the Hospitality Committee for putting this gathering
together.
