Halloween Party
The Hospitality Committee will host the annual Halloween Potluck on
Thursday, October 31, starting at 4:30 pm. Costumes aren't required,
but they add to the fun and let you express your creativity. Prizes will
be awarded for the best costumes.
A Day in the Life EE
This year, the Periodico wants to publish photos you send us
illustrating a specific theme related to Esperanza Estates. The theme
for the October issue is "A Day in the Life of Esperanza Estates."
Show us photos of things that typically happen in EE on a daily or
frequent basis. Use your imagination. Submit photos to droessle@mac.com
or drop them off at 801 Circulo Napa. The deadine is October 14.
Author! Author!
EE's own Denise Roessle will be available for information and
advice following William Bevill's Self Publishing Workshop from
10 am til noon, Thursday, October 3, at the Joyner-Green Valley
Library. If you'd like to know how to publish your own memoir, poetry or
book of photos, this workshop is for you.
From Bored to Board
Looking for a way to become a vital part of our neighborhood? Joe
McCalpin has just the spot for you. The Nominating Committee of
EEHOA Board is looking for "a few good residents" willing to add their
names to the board ballot at the annual meeting in January of 2014.
Three of the nine board seats will be up for election at that time. Give
Joe a call at 867-8067 if you're interested.
Fearless Leader's E-mail Hi-jacked
Leader of the EE Hikers, Marian Mundale, reports that her e-mail was
hi-jacked last week. Evil doers sent out a spreadsheet--likely
containing a virus--to addresses on her contact list. If you've
received such an e-mail, delete it without opening.
Family History Workshop
Bitten by the genealogy bug, but don't know where to start? The Pima
County Genealogy Society will present Researching Your Family History at
the Joyner-Green Valley Library on Saturday October 5, from 2-3 pm.
You'll get an introduction to genealogy, charts, and a bibliography to
help you find your ancestors.
