Wednesday Night Movie
This week's movie is A Beautiful Mind starring
Russell Crowe. This film is based on the true story
of John Forbes Nash, Jr., a mathematical genius who made
an astonishing discovery early in his career and stood
on the brink of international acclaim. But he soon found
himself on a painful and harrowing journey of
self-discovery once he was diagnosed with schizophrenia.
After many years of struggle, he eventually triumphed
over this tragedy, and finally, late in life, was
awarded the Nobel Prize. Showtime is 7:00 p.m. at
the Ramada. Thanks to Jane and Eric Ellingson for

Attention Fiber Artists<
Cooler temperatures have arrived, so the fiber
arts group will start meeting at the Ramada on
Thursdays at 1:00 p.m. This creative group
welcomes new members of any skill level to bring
their projects or just drop by to socialize.
Book Discussion Group
There's still time to read the October
selection, Life in a Jar by Jack Mayer,
before the book discussion on October 3 at 11:00
a.m. at the Ramada. This is a very congenial
group, and new members are always welcome.

GVC Road Meeting Reminder
Green Valley Council has scheduled a road
funding forum with our District Four Pima County
Supervisor Steve Christy and Deputy County
Administrator Carmine DeBonis. The forum is
next Monday,
September 25 at 2pm at
the Green Valley Recreation West Center.
