Green Valley, AZ September 19 Good Morning: The first of the fall Board meetings following the summer recess will be held today, beginning at 1:00, at the Ramada. A meeting agenda is included below with this edition of the Memo. All residents are invited to attend. Many thanks to Jerry and Dolores McCall, of Regalo, who sweep and shovel the sand which the monsoons wash out onto our streets every year. They are not computer people, and probably don't read the Memo, so tell them thanks when you see them.
Our subdivision was blanketed by more phone books Saturday. Unfortunately, the distributors don't make an effort to learn which houses are occupied, and which are not, so there are many packets of phone books outside the homes of people who are not here yet. If you see one outside a neighbor's home, and know the house is vacant, please either toss them in your garbage, or put them inside the patio wall. Such items left in the driveway are a sign the home is unoccupied, and as such an invitation to persons who have mischief in mind.
The September Periodico will be out shortly, so watch your email inbox. This first fall edition promises to be a dandy and has a new easier to read online format. Copies will be available at the Ramada for those not having email availability.
A representative from EE gave a presentation at the September meeting of the Green Valley Council on a number of projects that have been successfully completed over the past few years in our subdivision, including the Ramada, the reconstructed Esperanza Blvd monument and new Portillo entrance monument, Sunset Park, the Walking Trail, our communications tools (this memo, the EE website, and the Periodico), and the annual efforts of our volunteers in helping to maintain and enhance our neighborhood. The highlight of the presentation was an impressive slide show, put together by our webmaster, Craig Surprise.
There will be a household hazardous waste collection day on Saturday, October 15, from 8 to noon, at the Presbyterian Church parking lot, 2800 S. Camino del Sol. Most household hazardous waste and medication is accepted. There is a $10 charge for TV's, but most other electronic equipment is accepted at no charge.
Melodye is getting ready to send in another order for EE name tags, so if you want to order one, call (520) 399-0455, or email her at melodye1@cox.net So far about 60 people have ordered, and will be proudly wearing their tags at Ramada events. Don't you want to be among them? Don't be left out! Don't look like an outsider! Look like one of the EE big dogs and get a name tag! Only $6.00 for a tag that will last a lifetime!
