EE HOA, Green Valley, AZ
Monday Morning Memo

September 15, 2014        Esperanza Estates        Green Valley, AZ

Hear Ye! Hear Ye!  The Board Is Back
After its summer hiatus, the HOA Board is rested and raring to go. Watch them in action today at 1:00 p.m. in the Ramada. Attending a Board meeting is the best way to find out what's going on in EE.  All are welcome. The meeting agenda appears at the bottom of this memo.

First Impressions
I returned to Esperanza last week after a few months away and was immediately struck by: how green the vegetation looked; how weed free most areas are thanks to the combined efforts of Tom Cooke and Boyd Morse in the common areas and homeowners in their front yards; the great shape our parks are in thanks, to the summer water brigade of Kris Bean, Bob Krantz, Barb and Joe McCalpin, Pat SharpeLinda and Dave Sielken, Terra and Gary Williams, and Emil Ziemer; how neat the common areas are, thanks to Dean Hess and the Hot Desert crew; and all the new residents who have joined our great community over the summer

Ramada Fountain
Thanks to Tom Cooke for once again fixing the fountain in the Ramada garden by replacing the pump and to Bruce Liljegrenfor tossing in chlorine tablets to keep the water clean.  Within a week or so, Craig Surprise has plans to make changes to the setup so that the pump will run only during daylight hours, in hopes of increasing the pump's life span.

Pickleball Courts
Pickleball players will appreciate the efforts of Courtmaster Kevin Welsh who repainted the lines on the courts last week. While he was in the mood to paint, he also repainted the yellow "no parking" zone in front of the Ramada.

Book Discussion Group
Reminder that the first meeting of the Tuesday Book Discussion Group will take place at the Ramada on October 7 at 11:00 a.m.  The group will discuss Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline.

Like Mid-century Modern?
The Tucson Historic Preservation Foundation presents Tucson Modernism Week 2014, beginning Friday, October 3rd through Saturday, October 11th. The celebration will feature a series of programs, film, lectures and events highlighting Tucson's Mid-century Modern design and architecture throughout the city, along with the very popular vintage trailer show. For more information, go to the event's website at tucsonmod.com.
