Good Morning:

Don't forget our Hospitality Committee is hosting a pot luck dinner on Labor Day, September 5th--next Monday.  Please bring a dish to share. The Committee will supply 'the essentials' (napkins, paper plates, and utensils) as well as beer, wine, soft drinks, and ice.  Bring your own hard stuff if you desire a stiffer libation.  Happy hour begins at 4:30 pm; pot luck at 5:15.  It has been a long summer; plan on joining us for this first fall, Ramada event. Be there, or be square!

As with all EE events to be held over the coming season, we will have a bin for the local Food Bank, and will be asking attendees to bring a non-perishable food or toiletry item to donate. Statistics recently released reflect the hunger problem in the US is significant and getting worse, and this is our small way of helping to make a dent in this serious problem. Please help.

Once again, remember your opportunity to purchase a plastic, permanent EE name tag, embossed with your name and the name of your EE street. These are nice tags, with a magnetic fastener, that you can use for years at our EE events. The cost is a nominal $6.00. No more paper tags that always fall off, and can damage some types of clothing. Call or email Melodye at 399-0455, or melodye1@cox.net   You can order your tag now and pay later. Look official! Look like you belong!  Look like you could be a contender! Order your tag now!

As a reminder, the CC&R's of EE require that "owners must be responsible for their pets and prevent them from creating a nuisance". Barking dogs are frequently the source of complaints received by the Board. The Board has the discretion to determine if any animal is a nuisance and to request its removal from the Lot. Barking dogs creating a nuisance are also outlawed by Pima County ordinances--see Section 6.04.160. Our experience is that the County vigorously enforces this ordinance. Fines from $50 to $500 can be levied against owners. The procedure for enforcement by Pima County can be found at pimaanimalcare.org.

A brief, almost typhoon-like wind last Thursday, preceding a monsoon rain, blew the top off of several street lamps, requiring replacement of some parts. This would not have happened had the tops been property secured to the lamp body. Be sure and check your lamp to make sure the top is properly clicked on. If you are unable to do so, or don't know what to check, call 399-0455 for assistance.

The Thursday wind also destroyed the remaining flag pole at EE (Flag) Park, which will need replacement if the Board decides to continue with flags in this location. There has been a lot of difficulties with these poles over the past few years; the second pole having been removed a couple of years ago after continuous problems. It may be time to consider the wisdom of maintaining flags in this location.

The theft of a large volume of water from an unoccupied dwelling in EE has been reported. The theft was in the neighborhood of 40,000 gallons of water. With no evidence of a faulty meter, or a leak at any location on the property, indications are the water was either hauled away, or used on some adjoining property by the thief. If you see anything suspicious around any neighbor's home, please report it to the sheriff's office and to your Neighborhood Watch block captain.
