Need Some Healing Energy?
Join Sandra Gazlay at the pool on Tuesday, July 8, at 8 a.m. for a Qi Gong session.  No special attire -- just be comfortable.  If you think that Qi Gong might be served over rice or noodles, that's OK.  This is a beginners session with instruction provided.

A Call to Arms, Legs and Paint Brushes 
Scrubbers, painters, movers, moppers and hosers lend us your rubber gloves.  Barb McCalpin has a new power washer and is planning a Spruce Up the Ramada Party (Party??) for this Friday, July 11. The fun(?) begins at 8 am and will involve washing down the Ramada, pool area, and furniture therein.  The party may be extended to allow for paint patch-up for the concrete floor and masonry walls.  Want to join in the party?  Just come to the Ramada ready to work, wearing your work clothes, and bring your own rubber gloves, putty knife, paint brush and clean-up bucket if you have them.

Independence Day Celebration
Sixty-four EE residents, most decked out in red-white-and blue, marked the Fourth of July at the Ramada with a reading of the Declaration of Independence.  A fitting reminder of the reason for the celebration, the reading was the brainchild of Lovely Lady Linda Sielken.  Dangerous Dave Sielken's offerings from the grill were gobbled up along with guests' pot luck contributions.  Who knew that Dave could provide a pyrotechnic show while cooking?  Thanks to the Sielkens and the summer hospitality helpers who helped make this possible.

EE in the GV News
Our July 4 celebration made the front page of Sunday's GV News.  Thanks to Denise Roessle for submitting the photo of the reading of the Declaration of Independence.

The Last Picture Show
Last Wednesday's showing of Despicable Me 2 was the last Arts Club movie of the season.  The sound of light rain was a welcome accompaniment to the charming, laugh-filled animation.  Who knew that two of the Minions would be named Kevin (Welsh?) and Dave (Sielken?).  Heartfelt thanks to Kevin and Linda Welsh for another hit in the series.
