July 4

Good Morning:

Happy Fourth of July!

Today being the 4th, be sure to plan on attending the Hospitality Committee's  planned party at the Ramada this afternoon, starting at 4:30. They will be serving their famous sausage and pepper sandwich, together with potato salad and baked beans, for the nominal charge of only $5.00. Grilling begins at 5 p.m.  In the interim, the Committee will include, for the nominal price of admission, cold beer, wine, and setups for BYOB cocktails. Come on down and enjoy the afternoon and help celebrate our country's 235th birthday in style.

The Enhancement Team wishes to thank Barbara Platte for her recent donation of furniture for the next Ramada sale, to be held in the spring of 2012. Remember, the Team is always looking for donations for its annual sale. If you have items, call Barb McCalpin, 867-8067 to arrange for a pick up.

John Meek noted the oleanders at the Tennis/pickleball courts were looking extremely stressed, and volunteered his water to give them a drink. Stoney Brown and another volunteer ran hoses to connect to a soaker hose donated by Bruce Liljegren to give the oleanders a much needed shot of water. Many thanks to John for his help. We hope the monsoon arrives soon, as many of our plantings are suffering from the drought.

Residents are reminded the common areas and alleyways are not places to store anything, or to dump yard trimmings. The CC&R's prohibit the placement of anything in the common areas, including the alleyways, so please don't do it.

Many thanks to Charlie & Sally Elliot, who decorate all of the mailboxes on upper Napa with American flags, and maintain them as well. Due to the nation's birthday, this week they went down to parts of lower Napa as well.

Have a good week. Fly your flag today! Do a rain dance for an early monsoon beginning!
