July 4th Celebration
Join your friends and neighbors in celebrating the 4th
at the Ramada. Our Hospitality Committee is preparing a
great barbecue: grilled sausages with onions and
peppers, potato salad, and baked beans. The
cost is $6.00 per person and $3.00 for a second sausage. Wine,
beer, sodas, water & mixers will be provided. The
party starts at 4:30.
[Editor's Note: Here in New England, I'll be celebrating
with our traditional 4th of July dish of salmon and
peas.]

The King
is Coming
Movie Night has been drawing larger crowds each week. Next
Saturday's show will be "Viva Las Vegas." Elvis the Pelvis
really lets loose in the song "Come on Everybody." Ann
Margaret, co-stars. See this movie, whether your an Elvis
fan or not. You'll like it!!!
So, dig out your "blue suede shoes," and get "all shook up"
at the Ramada on Saturday,
July 7, at 7:30. "Don't
be cruel" and miss it, or you'll be "crying in the chapel."

Thumbs Up!
Kudos to Dean
Hess and Kevin Welsh for
getting all the gravel around the new restrooms at the
tennis/pickleball courts spread. No bare ground or
construction debris is visible, and it all looks great.
Kevin was able to place the new soaker hose around the
oleanders, and they are looking less stressed. The tile is
also in and the fixtures are installed. While some final
touches are still needed, the restrooms are now useable.
Thanks to the entire volunteer crew for their hard work to
make this long awaited project a reality. They can
justifiably be "flushed with pride" (sorry, I couldn't
resist) at a job well done.

Ramada WiFi
Hats off to Kevin
Welsh who
restored the Ramada internet service, knocked out by a
recent storm, to those dependent on it. A newcomer to
EE, Kevin organizes and promotes the EE Arts Club's
Saturday Night at the Movies, helps keep the summer
pickleball group active, worked on the new restrooms
and maintains the internet at the Ramada during these
monsoon months. He definitely deserves our thanks.

Jaguarundi Sighting
Several residents responded to our Periodico story about
jaguarundi sightings by reporting their own encounters.
One resident was able to get a picture, and she has
contacted the Sonoran Desert Museum. According the museum's
website, to date there are no known photos of these cats in
Arizona. So be on the lookout for these elusive creatures
and contact Denise (droessle@mac.com) if you see one or get
a photo. We'll keep you updated.
