June 7th 2010

Good Morning:

Seventy six (76) residents and friends attended our HOA Memorial Day party at the Ramada. The Hospitality Committee did another wonderful job with service and food. The ceiling fans came in handy, as did the PA system, and it was really quite comfortable. After we ate Scottie passed around the microphone to each of the attendees, so we could tell a little about ourselves, where we were from, and how long we had lived in Esperanza Estates. It was all really quite interesting and even entertaining at times. Once again party goers brought donations of non-perishable items for the local Food Bank. Don and Pam Bjorkman are our liaison with the Food Bank and take care of delivering our items. We thank them very much.

The next party is scheduled for Independence Day July 4th at 5:00pm. More on that as we get closer to the event, but I think it is a good idea to get it on our calendars now.

It's time to swim.  The pool and spa are really a welcome addition to our neighborhood this time of the year.  If you aren't a regular user, or haven't tried the pool out recently you might give it a try. Remember to take that shower before entering.

We continue to make improvements in the pool area. A new metal door, that we had on hand, but had never been installed, replaced an old wooden one to one of the storage areas. It also now opens out instead of in, giving us more room inside the facility to store supplies, mops, brooms, and exercise equipment. It will be getting more organized in coming weeks, along with a rack being built, to get some of the items out of sight that currently lean against the wall by the back entrance of the pool/Ramada area. Adequate cleaning items will be left out to be readily available after events.

I have have noticed on my walks, with the dog, that we have had flyers left on our gates recently advertising services available to homeowners. If you know your neighbors are gone for the season do them a favor and remove the flyers. No need to advertise that they are away. It's just the neighborly thing to do.

That's it for today. Have a good week.
