Monday Morning Memo------------June 30th , 2008

Good Morning:

A special thanks to Bruce Liljegren, who edited and published the MMM for the past three weeks, and did a great job of it. The Memo was originally his idea, and has become a useful tool to keep our residents abreast of happenings in our subdivision. Bruce serves as vice-president of the HOA, where he has also proven himself a valuable asset to Esperanza Estates. He resolved some serious issues at the pool with chemical imbalance this past week, along with an electrical issue. Thanks as well to our always faithful and vigilant pool-watcher Scottie Blum, who helped avert a closure of our spa through quick action on her part. Scottie is truly our pool’s best friend!

This week’s Memo marks its third anniversary. The inaugural issue was published June 27th, 2005, so this issue is about the 150th in the series. We have approximately 230 subscribers, up from the 26 who received the first issue. The original editor was the then-HOA president, Max Perry, who edited the Memo for its first year and a half, getting it off to a strong start. Many thanks to Bruce for the idea, and to Max, who picked it up and ran with it. We expect the MMM will live well into the future.

Be sure and remember the annual Hospitality Committee’s Fourth of July bash at Sunset Ramada. The festivities will begin at 5:30 that day, and will, as always, prove to be a good time. The cost is merely $5.00, and will include a fine meal of a traditional sort for this occasion. Bring your own alcohol--all else will be provided or available. Remember as well to fly your flag that day as we celebrate the 232nd anniversary of the independence of our country.

For those who use Saguaro Environmental Services for trash pickup, the collection day has been changed from Thursday to Monday, effective today, June 30th.

We still have a few owners who have not trimmed their palms. Be advised this is an HOA requirement that it be done annually, for safety reasons. If you have palms and have not had them trimmed, or made arrangements and advised a Board officer, by July 7th, the HOA will employ an agent to have them trimmed at your expense plus a surcharge which will become a lien on your property until paid. Thus, please take care of this immediately if you have not already done so.

We received the following email from a friend of someone offering a new service that might be of interest to some of our EE residents:

My friend, Sue Vecsey, recently moved to Green Valley and started a business called "Patio Pretty." While there are people who clean houses ... and people who do yard work ... there's no one who focuses on keeping patios and courtyards looking fresh and inviting. That's where Sue comes in. If you know anyone who might need help cleaning their BBQ, or sweeping their patio or following up after "Fido," please give her a call or forward this email to them. In fact, I’m sure she’d appreciate your forwarding this email to all of your friends and acquaintances in the Green Valley area! For more information on what she does, please check out her website at www.patiopretty.com.

Remember to fly your flag on Independence Day! Now, more than ever!

Have a good week. How about this heat? Hopefully the monsoons are just around the corner to help cool us off.
