EE HOA, Green Valley, AZ
Monday Morning Memo

June 2, 2014        Esperanza Estates        Green Valley, AZ

Party! Party! Party! at the Pool

Grab your suit, your floaties, and your cover-up and head to the EE pool Wednesday night at 6 pm for a BBQ and a movie.  Kevin and Linda Welsh will host this event on behalf of the EE Arts Group.  Hot dogs are on the menu.  Bring your own beverage.  The movie--to be shown in the pool area--will be Back to the Beach, starring Annette and Frankie. (Don't know why our suggestions of Pirhanna and Jaws were ignored.) Your donation of $$$$ will be gratefully accepted by the EE Arts Group.

Polite Parking Procedures

Parking at the Ramada or the EE Pool?  Please, remember that at least half of the homes along Ensalmo are currently occupied.  Parking in a driveway or across part of a driveway is not just rude, but could also restrict access for emergency personnel.  So walk, share a ride, ride your bike, park a bit further away, or use your pogo stick--just do what it takes to leave neighbors' driveways clear.

Smoooooth Driving

Workers have been chopping away at the cracks and holes in quad driveways on Placita Nueva and Holgado and are scheduled to finish the repairs by June 4th. Thanks to Board member Ben Sheffield who arranged for the much needed work to be done.  And while we're at it, thanks go to all the HOA Board members who donate their time to keep our neighborhood the best place to live in Green Valley.  Heck!  It's the best place to live "period."

What Interests You?
Reminder that Barb Copeland and Cynthia Surprise are compiling a list of potential interest groups for next year. Let us know what type of groups would catch your fancy. Games, crafts, discussions? Send your suggestions to Barb at jlbrcopeland@aol.com.

Ice Out on The Santa Cruz
Green Valley temperatures reached triple digits this week for the first time in 2014.  For those of you back in the cooler climes who may be snickering at this, remember -- it's a dry heat.

Owl Family on the Move

EE's owl babies have flown the coop.  No longer can they be found in their nesting tree.  Beginning Birding instructor Sandy McMahan tells us that the family may continue to roost together in a nearby location throughout the summer as the youngsters learn to hunt on their own.  We'll hope to see more of them next winter.  Great Horned Owls prey on mice, rats, small birds and the occasional domestic cat.  Best to keep "Sylvester" safely inside or these overgrown "Tweety Pies" may dine on a "Puddie Tat."

For Those Who Are Away
In case you don't read the GV News at your summer place, you may be interested to know that Safeway on Continental has started to change the traffic flow in the parking lot. Another business is shutting it's doors. The Green Valley Nursery is going out of business.
