Board Meeting Today
The June meeting of the HOA Board will take place today at
the Ramada at 1:00. A copy of the
meeting agenda is included at the end of this memo.
Thanks to Kevin Welsh who
has agreed to act as technician and set up the Skype
call allowing two Board members and several
residents to attend by conference call from their
summer homes.
Weather Requires Rescheduling of Movie Night
The first Saturday Night Movie at the EE Pool was
"rained out", but has been rescheduled for tonight,
Monday June 18. The movie starts at 7:30. Admission
is just a donation to the Arts Club. Beach attire is
entirely appropriate.
This week the movie is "Beach Party" with Annette &
Frankie straight from 1956. Next week we'll
see "American Grafitti". Requests for future movies
will be welcomed, so if you have a favorite, let us
know and we will try to accommodate all areas of
interest.
This is an experiment that has been long thought of
as an additional activity for our full-timers during
the summer months, and as an additional way to use
our Ramada area.
Coffee and Donuts
Come on over to the Ramada at 8:30
a.m. this Wednesday, June 20. Not only is
this the last day of spring, it's the last free
coffee and donuts of the season. Thanks to the
Millers, who have been sponsoring this
monthly event for a number of years. We are so
lucky to have generous and thoughtful residents like
Ken and Kay.
Congratulations Marvelous Marvol
Golf Digest has added EE resident Marvol Barnard to
it's biennial list of America's 50 Best Women
Teachers. This honor follows her being named LPGA
Section Teacher of the Year in 2010.
Marvol has been teaching golf at Green Valley's
Haven golf course for more than 11 years and works
with all ages and skill levels. Interested in
improving your game? Or maybe you've been thinking
of taking up golf as a new sport. Check out Marvol's

News for Residents Who Are Away
When you return to GV after a summer absence, it's
easy to notice what's new. But the absence of
something familiar is not so obvious. If you have a
sense that something is different when you turn up
Esperanza Boulevard for the first time, but can't
quite figure out what it is, it's the absence of the
large, old mesquite on the median at the corner
of La Canada. The GV News reports that the tree
will be removed in the next couple of weeks because
it is unsalvageable.
Potty Progress
Work on the restrooms at the tennis/pickleball
courts continues to progress. West walls of both
rooms have been tiled this week and ventilated metal
doors have been installed. No fixtures yet, but it
won't be long. Thanks to all the EE residents
who've worked to make this project happen.
MMM Thank-you
Thanks to the anonymous EE resident who printed &
posted last
week's memo on the Ramada bulletin board. (I'm glad to know I have a back-up out
there when I forget. <: Kris Bean.)
Several EE residents rely on the posted
paper copy for their news, and Greg Gramstadt has faithfully executed this
duty while in residence during most of the year.
