Monday Morning Memo

June 16, 2014        Esperanza Estates        Green Valley, AZ

Board Meeting Today
One PM at the Ramada.  Agenda at the end of this memo.

Margaritaville
Free margaritas (and pop for those who prefer) at the Ramada this Wednesday, June 18, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Chips and salsa will be provided, but the addition of your favorite munchies would be welcome.  And, if margaritas conjure up thoughts of Jimmy Buffett in your mind, you're in luck. Kevin Welsh
will be showing a Buffett DVD during the party. Thanks to the Liljegrens and the Sielkens for generously hosting this event.  There will be another in July, courtesy of the Cookes and the Millers

Bring Your Own Ice
The refrigerator inside the pool enclosure is working with the exception of the ice maker.  Bruce Liljigren spotted a puddle of water and called the repair person who pronounced the ice maker kaput and beyond repair. Fortunately, the refrigerator still dispenses cold water and there are cups available inside the refrigerator. Thanks to Bruce for arranging service call and to the Enhancement Team for paying for it.

Refreshment Without a Pause

Last Wednesday's Arts Club Pool/ oBar BQ/Movie Night was another hit.  Many thanks to Kevin and Linda Welsh for setting it all up.  The showing of Rebel Without a Cause was a new viewing for some and a reviewing for others. Amazing how a dip in the pool after dark can cool you down even though the temperature is still in the 90s.

Bringing Back the Big Band Sounds

EE resident Richard "Dick" Rose, who still plays his saxophone daily, supplied the music for a You Tube video celebrating the music of Jackie Souders' band playing in the Musicians' Association of Seattle big band competition of 1959.  Dick played saxophone with the featured band and the band of the USS Midway.  Clicking http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEPJW67Dvsw will get you to the video.

Pool Palms Sporting a New Hairdo

The EE pool palm trees have been given their annual haircut just in time for monsoon season.  Thanks to Dean Hess for overseeing the much-needed trim.  Pool and spa users will appreciate the absence of leaves, seed and palm flowers from their suits and hair.

If you've a palm in your yard, there only two weeks left to have that potential torch trimmed.  HOA rules require the shearing as a neighborhood fire safety measure.

Going On Vacation?

We know some of you have interesting trips planned for the summer. Share photos of your trip with us by sending them to the Periodico at droessle@mac.com. We'll publish them in the September issue.
