Green Valley, Az.

June 1

Good Morning:

Our pickleball players are thinning out for the season, due partly to the warmer mornings and partly to the fact that many of them are winter residents. Our instructor and coach, Gary Beatty, will continue to help us out on this until about mid June, following which he will be gone for the summer. This has been a very successful program this year, and use of our tennis court has probably exceeded any use it has seen for many years. We have had as many as 18 players turn out on a single day to enjoy the game. The new court surface has been a joy to play on, and it looks great. Serious play will likely begin again in the latter part of September. It looks pretty good right now for Gary to be back with us as well. He has been a terrific volunteer and has spent countless hours helping us out with this program.

Here it is into June already and it is not too early to be making plans for the Fourth of July. Our Hospitality Committee has announced their plans, which will be held at Sunset Ramada, beginning at 4:30 on the Fourth, with a BYOB cocktail hour. They will serve an Italian sausage with assorted peppers, baked beans, potato salad, cake and ice cream, at a meager cost of only $5.00. It will be necessary to RSVP for this event, by calling Scottie at 399-0955, or Sam, at 648-5925. If you will be here over the summer, don't miss this event, which is always a good time. Come out and help celebrate our nation's Birthday.

Our webmaster, Craig Surprise, is in residence currently, and if you have questions, issues, suggestions, or whatever about our website or the Forum, let Craig know. You can drop by his residence at 1080 Excelso, or email him at 'ee-webmaster@msn.com'

The editor of the MMM will be traveling for the next couple of weeks, but the Memo will come out as always. Bruce Liljegren will be acting editor. Bruce is the guy who originally came up with the idea for the Monday Morning Memo, way back in 2005. We are sure you will enjoy the change.

Further work on the light post situation has been postponed until this coming fall. The program hasn't changed; only the timing.

A GVCCC meeting scheduled for June 15 will be attended by our Board sub-committee on the condition of our streets, and that situation will be formally broached by the sub-committee as an opening into this subject. GVCCC schedules meetings with HOA boards from time to time to discuss matters of concern, and as this is a matter of considerable concern to EE, it is felt to be an appropriate time and an appropriate subject for this meeting.

If you are looking for a reliable yard man, give Ron Beck a try.  He has worked extensively for our HOA and for private parties in EE.  His phone is 481-8342, email 'beckclan1@gmail.com He is reasonable and always shows up when he says he will be there.

Have a good week. We hope you had an enjoyable Memorial Day weekend.
