Cinco de Mayo Celebration
EE's celebration begins at 4:30 pm Tuesday at the Ramada. Margaritas, beer and soft drinks will be provided. Fantastic neighborhood potluck offerings are anticipated. Don your most colorful, festive attire and join your neighbors for another great evening courtesy of the Hospitality Hotties.

Hot Stuff
It may get up to 700 degrees, but the new outdoor oven at the courts is looking very cool with it's great new tile job. Thanks to Kevin Welsh and Al Prato for their handiwork, and their heroic efforts to get the project done while the sun was doing its own baking.

May Movies
This week's Arts Club Movie will be Crazy Heart with Jeff Bridges, Robert Duvall, Colin Farrell and Jean Haddock.  Alcoholic, seen-better-days country music legend meets reporter. The movie starts at 7 pm on Wednesday night.  Your $2 donation is appreciated.
The May 13th movie will be another pool/poolside showing yet to be determined.  Lake Placid, anyone?

Book Discussion on Tuesday
The book group will meet on Tuesday at 11:00 to discuss Whistling Past the Graveyard.

Are You Being Watched?
You may get an eerie feeling that you aren't alone when you sit in Mt. View Park.  To fill up the large pot adorned with Petroglyphs, the EE Artisans have added some metal pieces, including some familiar faces.  Words can't do justice to this unique arrangement, so stop and take a peek next time you are going by.  If you've left for the summer, fear not, there will be pictures in the May Periodico. 

Snake Time
Just a reminder to keep your head on a swivel when you are out walking and watch where you put your hands.  Snakes are out and have been reported in several spots around the neighborhood including in the Ellingson's garage. I saw one Saturday evening, slithering down the rocks on the trail, and one this morning coiled up near the curb on Desert Bell.  The rattle got my attention in time to steer clear.  The snake was hissing at passing cars.

Green Valley Pride Day
The GV Council is holding a Community Pride Day on Saturday, May 9, from 10:00 a.m.  They are looking for volunteers to help clean up around the abandoned gas stations on Esperanza Blvd and Camino del Sol.  It you would like to help on this project, call GVC at 648-1936. They will tell you what to wear and bring.
