EE HOA, Green Valley, AZ
Monday Morning Memo

May 26, 2014        Esperanza Estates        Green Valley, AZ

Trash
Reminder that trash companies will pick up on their holiday schedules this week.

No Movie This Week
No movie this Wednesday.  Wednesday, June 4th will be a Pool Party movie with Kevin and Linda Welsh serving up hot dogs at 6 pm.  Bring your suit and a beverage and join in the splash.

Net Dedication--Tuesday at 8 am
Come see the new pickleball nets and join in the fun Tuesday morning at eight.  Newcomers to the sport are welcome.  Summer is a great time to learn with less competition for court time.  EE neighbors are always glad to have another join in and will gladly teach you the ins and outs of the game.

Time For A Trim
Reminder that it's time to arrange to have tall palm trees on your property trimmed.  Untrimmed palms pose a serious fire hazard because they are lightning magnets especially during monsoon season.  Every year we hear reports of such fires in Green Valley. Trimming should not take place until June 1, but absolutely needs to be done by June 30.
The HOA absolutely requires this to be done as a safety issue. Your cooperation in this matter will be appreciated and it is in the best interest of both you and your neighbors to arrange for the necessary trimming.
The HOA uses Monstrosity Tree Service because they do a good job at a competitive price; however, owners can use anyone they please. You can contact Monstrosity Tree Service at: (520) 230-7131 or (520) 625-TREE. Monstrosity can do the trimming even if owners are not in residence. They will also generally give owners the same rate they charge the HOA--a discount from their normal charge--if the work is done while they are in the neighborhood trimming EE common area trees.

Quench Your Thirst
Find yourself at the Ramada wanting a drink of cold water?  Thanks to the Enhancement Team, the refrigerator in the pool area dispenses ice and water.  And now, the Enhancement Team has stocked the refrigerator with a supply of cups for the water.  All the team asks is that you dispose of the cups properly.

What A Hoot!
Check out the family of owls that have taken up residence in the tall pine tree at the end of the cul-de-sac on Ensalmo. This is the same tree that housed a family of hawks a couple of years ago.  The baby owls are extremely cute, but shy.  If you can't get over to see them in person, you'll be able to see their photos in the May Periodico.

Emergency
What would you do if there were an emergency in the pool and you didn't have your cell phone?  For years, there was a beige phone (blending in with the travertine wall) wedged in beside the refrigerator in the pool area. To enhance visibility, the emergency phone has been moved to the wall beside the women's restroom.  You can't miss seeing it since it's now purple.  Thanks to Craig Surprise for moving it.

Staying Safe While Using E-mail
Getting into the habit of just deleting E-mail messages that you didn't expect to receive from someone you don't know is a good thing to do. McAfee just published 'How to be your own E-mail police' which includes a list of 5 things to get into the habit of doing; it's worth a read...
