Green Valley, AZ May 2 Good Morning: Many thanks to Eric and Jane Ellingson, who have placed a large, beautiful arrangement of Geraniums in a decorative pot at the entrance to the pool.
Our famous Cinco de Mayo Potluck will be held again this year on Thursday, May 5 (of course!) beginning at 4:30, at Sunset Ramada. Please bring your favorite Mexican dish to share and join your neighbors for this annual event; it is always one of the year's best. Margaritas, soda, and beer will be provided by our Hospitality Committee, as will plates, utensils, napkins, etc. There is no charge to attend the event, but we ask that you help out the GV Food Bank by bringing a non-perishable food item to drop into their donation bins at the Ramada entrance.
The Food Bank has sent our HOA a thank you letter for EE residents having donating 261 pounds of food in the first quarter of this year. Your HOA in turn thanks all of you donors--who deserve the credit.
An ad-hoc group of homeowners is working to select some new paint colors, in addition to Norfolk Brown, for the trim on our houses. If you are interested in joining the group, send an email to: ee-newcolors@msn.com. Planning on repainting your trim? You might want to wait until after the 2012 Annual Meeting, the earliest any new colors could be approved by a change to our CC&Rs. (In the meantime, if you want to repaint, send email to: EE Arch. Ctrl. Cmtte. to get a Repaint Preapproval Form with the correct color for your house, and delineation of the boundaries between your house and your neighbors' by a committee member.)
Board member Boyd Morse and another volunteer took down the old dangling Christmas lights that had been adorning the Ramada for the past three years, and replaced them with modern rope lights. The new lighting was mounted neatly along the bottom of each of the ceiling beams, and presents a much improved appearance. Financing for this change was provided entirely by our Enhancement Team.
Storage space is at a premium at the Ramada. Holiday decorations were stored inefficiently and were taking up a lot of space. A small group (Scottie Blum, Geri Lindberg,Eileen Stremme, Cynthia Surprise, and Barb McCalpin) met last Friday to go through the decorations and discard those that were in poor shape. The remaining items were sorted, boxed and labeled by holiday so they can be readily accessed in the future. This will save time, as well as freeing up valuable storage space.

NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH
Pickleball is winding down another season, so this Monday will be the last day at the court. We will however be combining with La Joya Verde throughout the summer. Their courts are facing N-S so the sun will not be a factor in the morning. If you would like to continue with Pickleball this summer we will be starting around 7 a.m.
If you are not sure where the courts are located, please contact me or Gary Beatty 991-7396. Trico Electric Cooperative, the electric utility serving EE, has a program that allows you to help out our community by rounding up the amount of your electric bill to the next whole dollar amount. Say your electric bill is $52.73. If you participate in Operation Round-Up, your bill will automatically be rounded up to $53, with the extra 27 cents going to the Operation Round-Up Fund. The most you would donate in one year would be about $12, and the donations are tax deductible. The utility then donates these funds to deserving Trico members, schools and organizations in our area. To sign up, just call 744-2944, and you can opt out of the program at any time.
Have a good week.
