May 17, 2010

Good Morning:

Today’s Memo is edited by yours truly, Bruce Liljegren, who acts as alternate when the usual editor is traveling. This issue is distributed by our webmaster, Craig Surprise, who maintains our backup distribution list. This is no easy task with additions, changes and deletions happening on a regular basis. A special thanks again to Craig.

The regular May meeting of the Board of Directors of Esperanza Estates will be held today at the Ramada, beginning at 1:00 pm. All residents are invited to attend, and a meeting agenda follows this edition of the Memo.

As of this past Friday the jets in the spa are not working. It is our hope to have them working again next week. The appropriate people have been contacted.

If you happen to need a pet sitter, Tom has been advised that Sandy Barrett,143 E Solidad (right off of Abrego & easy to find) 625-2619, is a good one.

With all that is going on in the state and the country, it remains a good time to stay vigilant, and pay attention to your surroundings. As was said so well by the man who spotted the terrorist bomb in Times Square, “If you see something, say something”. Report any suspicious activity you observe to 911 and to your Neighborhood Watch person. We all need to watch out for each other, and do what we can to keep our community safe.

About 6 weeks from now, trimming on the common area palms will begin. Please remember the Board requirement that all tall palms in private yards be trimmed at least annually, before the monsoon lightning storms begin. The same contractor the Board uses is generally available for hire by our residents as well, so watch for announcements on this in the future. The company name and phone number of the Board’s contractor will be published, so private palm owners may make their own arrangements directly. We have had excellent cooperation on this in the past, and anticipate the same this year. This is an important safety and aesthetic issue for Esperanza Estates.

That's it for today. Have a good week.
