EE Hikers Search for Roger's
Rock
The EE Hikers are following the path so
clearly laid out by Fearless Leader
Marian Mundale. Last Monday the group
set out on the Super Trail in Madera
Canyon in search of Roger's Rock. So
speedy was their ascent that the trio
went right by Roger's Rock (or perhaps
it's been moved....or camouflaged
somehow...or eroded to dust) and on up
to Josephine's Saddle. Even without
Marian's guidance, our little band of
hikers can miss a trail marker or two.
On Monday May 14th at 8 am, meet
at the Ramada for a return to Madera
Canyon, where we'll all be on the
lookout for Roger's Rock once again.
This time, there'll be a stop for lunch
at Roger's Rock---even if we have to
attach the old moniker to a new boulder.
BRING PLENTY OF WATER and $3 for
carfare.
Coffee & Donuts
Come on over to the Ramada on
Wednesday, May 16, at 8:30 a.m.
for free coffee and donuts. It's a nice
way to start the day.

Search the Monday Morning Memo
Trying to find something you remember
was in a previous MMM?
EE webmaster Craig has
added a new feature that makes it easy
to search for an item or a name. Click
on the "MMM Search" Quick Link at the
end of this memo, then type your search
term or words. The search link is also
available at the very bottom of the MMM
index page.
(Check out the 'Go to
Listing of All On-file Issues' link down
there too!)
Restroom Construction Update
Thanks to the perseverance of
Ben Sheffield and Jim
Lindberg, the building plans
for the restroom addition have been
completed and are signed by our
architect; we expect to have the
necessary permit from Pima County by
Tuesday. Progress last week
included excavation for the footings,
installation of the concrete forms, and
roughing-in of the plumbing. Coming up
this week is pouring the concrete. The
first of the following week should see
blocks being laid for the walls.
Cool Pool
If you found the pool "unusually
refreshing" last week, you can blame a
malfunction of both the gas and solar
pool heaters. After the gas heater was
fixed last Tuesday, pool temperatures
returned to the 80's. The solar heater
was scheduled for repair last Thursday.
A round of applause, please, for
Tom Cooke, our
Recreation Director, who once again
saved the day for those of us who thrive
in the water.
Neighborhood Watch Block
Captains
Whenever a home sale in your zone
closes, Mary Beth will send you an email
notifying you of the closing and the
name of the new owner. That way you can
be on the lookout for their arrival, and
deliver a new owner packet.
May Board Meeting
The next meeting of the EE HOA Board of
Directors will be held Monday, May
21 at 1:00 p.m. Please try to
attend.
Condolences
We were saddened to learn of the death of
Howard Cook, a long-time winter resident of Esperanza Estates.
Howard was in his 90s, but continued to
attend EE social activities until last
year. He was delightful to talk to, and had
a great sense of humor. Tom Cooke remembers
when Howard used to call and invite Tom
over, he would always say "you can bring
along your e" (referring to the fact that
Tom spelled his last name with an "e" and
Howard didn't!) Our condolences to his long
time companion, Frances Cook, and to his
family.
Weed Control
Please keep in mind the CC&Rs
require weed control for all
yards during the summer months.
You should make arrangements for
weed control before leaving EE,
and if you have already left
without doing so, you should
contact some person or company
to assure that your yard will be
tended to in your absence.
Failure to comply will result in
problems and expense for you and
for the HOA, so we ask that you
please not leave your home
without attention to this
matter. Your cooperation is very
much appreciated, by your HOA
and by your neighbors who live
in EE all year.
Snake Sightings
This week, several EE residents reported
seeing snakes in their yards. Use the GV
Fire Department's
629-9200
(non-emergency) number to request help with
snake removal.
