Esperanza Estates

Green Valley, Az.

April 6th

Good Morning:

Pool hours changed April 1st to 6 am to 9 pm.

Remember this Wednesday is Coffee and Donuts at the Ramada, at 9:30. This will be a special edition of this function, and Bloody Marys will be served, in addition to the usual. Come on down and have a little eye-opener, along with your donut.

A special thanks to Eric Ellingson for repairing the grout on our new counter at the Ramada. A few of the tiles had come lose and had to be reattached, necessitating redoing the grout as well. Eric did a splendid job on this task, and then installed a new locking hasp on the cabinet wherein some of the sound equipment will be stored. We also want to thank Eric for repairing the telephone within the pool enclosure. This phone was in bad condition, so we asked Eric to have a look at it because of his strong background in telecommunications. In less than a day, he found repair parts, totally rewired the telephone connection, and installed a new and much better phone---entirely at his own expense. Any job you give Eric seems to be finished before you can turn around--and done very well. We are lucky to have him.

Ed and Joan Moreaux have a front entrance gate in fair shape available. If interested, call them at 648-7515.

There will be a special meeting of the Board of Directors of Esperanza Estates at the Ramada at 1:00 pm on April 7 to review a complaint about a tree in a common area, and to review one other matter involving the cool decking at the pool. Any interested resident of EE may attend the meeting.

The 5 disk CD player donated by Craig and Cynthia Surprise has arrived and been installed by Eric Ellingson--and is it ever sweet! It works beautifully with the balance of the new sound system, and marks the final piece of the installation. We now have a totally first rate sound system, capable of doing anything that needs to be done with sound in our Ramada. Thanks to all who played a role in this achievement. Much of the equipment was donated by Craig and Cynthia Surprise; funding was by our Enhancement Team; technical expertise and system engineering was supplied by Eric Ellingson and Craig; planning and installation by Lance Ewing, Eric, and Vince Brow, and a few of us leaned on our shovels and watched. Everyone involved is to be highly commended, and as with so many things, every member of our HOA is now a partial and proud owner of a valuable system that cost them absolutely nothing. This is pushing the total of donations for Ramada enhancements toward the twenty thousand dollar figure--not a dime of which has come from HOA funds or annual dues.

The spa had some difficulties this past week as it wouldn’t hold the correct temperature due to what turned out to be a problem with the heater. It has now been repaired.

The monthly Bunco game will be held on April 13, at Sunset Ramada this time, beginning at 1:00. All the usual players please give notice to Melodye or Valerie if you will be present. Any new interested players can call and be placed on the substitute list (399-0455) or email melodye1@cox.net .

Be sure and check out the new photos on the website, at www.esperanzaestates.net Click on the links on the left hand side of the homepage under Recreational Facilities, Photo Gallery and Recent Activities. If you may have photos of interest involving EE, or other things in Green Valley that might be of interest, email them to the webmaster for review and use, if appropriate. Credit will be given for all photos used.

The Arizona Daily Star has extended an offer to residents of EE to receive the paper at a special discount rate for new subscribers. A new subscriber is one who has not received the paper delivered for the past 30 days. The special rate is less than half of the normal cost of the paper. For example, the news stand rate for 2 months would be $48, where as the discount rate is $20. Longer periods have similar discounts. For questions or to subscribe, call 399-0227, or 490-7611.

Next Saturday, April 11, the Valle Verde Rotary Club will sponsor a Family Fun Nite at the Triple Play facility on Duval Mine Road. Admission is $10 and entitles the ticket holder to use of all Triple Play facilities, including the miniature golf, batting cage, horse shoes, air hockey and video games. There will also be a golf tournament and Texas Hold-em poker game, for which prizes will be awarded. A silent auction will go on until 7:00 pm, featuring an excellent selection of items. Triple Play offers food and spirits, and is a fun venue. The event begins at 2:00 pm and goes until the facility closes at 10:00. This is a fund raiser for the Rotary Club, and proceeds are used for enhancement of our Green Valley community. Tickets may be obtained at the door, or by calling 399-0455. Hope to see you there to help support the Rotary Club’s efforts in Green Valley. If you happen to have grandchildren visiting, this will be a great way to let them have a good time as well. Triple Play’s games are for all ages.

Have a good week. Let’s hope for some abatement of the winds.
