Important Message About Dogs
From Board president Eric Ellingson: "After
a recent Wednesday morning coffee and doughnut session some
concerns were expressed about the presence of dogs in what was a
reasonably congested area. The primary concern was possible
entanglement in leashes and the possibility of injury resulting
from a fall. There were also comments concerning unpredictable
interactions between unfamiliar dogs and activity stimulation
caused by presence of food. This has not been a problem for any
of our evening functions and only occurred in this case because
people who were walking their dogs decided to drop by for coffee
and doughnuts. The EEHOA Board requests that in the future dog
owners refrain from bringing their animals into social
situations where your neighbors could become concerned about
either safety or sanitation issues. The Board does not feel
that specific restrictions need to be imposed but that common
sense and courtesy can solve this problem in the future. Your
future cooperation in this matter would be appreciated. As an
additional point of clarification, animals are not permitted in
the pool area." |
Get Ready to Rock 'n Roll
Instead of the usual movie this Wednesday,
the Arts Club will hold a concert and bonfire in Esperanza
Estates Park on Holgado
at Esperanza Boulevard (where the Arizona
Centennial flag and snake are.) The concert is Legends of Rock & Roll.
The show starts at 7:00.
Bring your own lawn chairs and beverage. The Arts Club will
provide popcorn. |
Cinco de Mayo Fiesta
Break out your colorful attire and favorite recipe for our
annual Cinco de Mayo party on Monday,
May 5th, starting at 4:30
p.m. at
the Ramada. It's a potluck, so please bring a dish to share.
Mexican food will keep with the theme, but tender palates and
tummies may appreciate more gentle fare. The Hospitality
Committee will provide beverages, including margaritas. |
Attention Hospitality Hotties
There will be a brief meeting of the summer hospitality crew
on Thursday,
May 1 at 9:30 at
the Ramada to finalize plans for the Cinco de Mayo fiesta. |
Let There Be Light
Lamp post bulb out? A free EEHOA-approved replacement light bulb
is just a phone call away. Contact one of the light bulb
keepers, Tom
Cooke (399-0455), Dean
Hess (398-4829)
or Joe
McCalpin (867-8067).
Many winter residents have left for the season, so please let
Tom, Dean or Joe know if you notice a bulb out on a vacant home. |
Appreciation
Orv and Clara Smith (Calle
Excelso) have made a very generous monetary donation to the HOA.
The gift was made with the specific comments that they were
making it because they were so pleased about the careful and
progressive management of the HOA by the Board, and the Board's
commitment to and continuously following through on improvements
to our facilities and our neighborhood. Thank you Orv and Clara
for your generosity. |
Rabbits 1, Gardeners 0
The Gardeners' plans to add colorful flowering plants to
Mountain View Park were thwarted last week by some browsing
bunnies. Those lovely pink gauras provided a taste treat to
those hungry hares. Bill Berdine and Dick Carver have now
replaced the gauras with colorful grasses, which are hopefully
more rabbit resistant. |
Weed Wackers Are Back
Tom Cooke and Boyd Morse, our volunteer
weed patrol, will soon be back on the Gator for another round of
weed spraying in our common areas. Their attempts have been
delayed by recent high winds. Hopefully, homeowners will follow
suit by keeping their front areas weed free. |
Open Board Meeting
At the April Board meeting last week, Board president Eric Ellingson
announced that the Board will hold an open special meeting to
discuss financial matters. The meeting will be held some time
after the regular October Board meeting. |
