Esperanza Estates
Green Valley, AZ
April 25
Good Morning:
The April Periodico
de Esperanza is
out, and is the finest edition to date! It has
everything! Photos, articles, news stories, shopping
hints, coming events, puzzles, accolades,
recommendations for tradesmen and more! Check it out in
color on our web site (see link below), or if you don't
have a computer, pick up a black&white printed copy at
the Ramada.
The season's final Free Coffee and Donuts at the Ramada
was held last Wednesday, and attended by about 35
people. As a special treat, they enjoyed a Danish
Kringle, donated by Bill Berdine and Stacy Meyer. This
event will begin again in the fall.
EE Board member Sam Barnard has been elected Commander
of Green Valley's Madera Post of the American Legion.
The Post has over 650 regular members, many of whom Sam
has recruited. Our congratulations to Sam, who has also
served our HOA for a number of years as both a Board
member and a long-time volunteer with the Hospitality
Committee.
The Board voted at the meeting held last Monday to
discontinue water service at Esperanza Park, which had
not been used for some time and for which there are no
plans for future use. This will save the HOA the monthly
expense, plus the maintenance costs of the
connection--which managed to freeze and break every
winter at least once.
New signs have been placed in the changing rooms at the
pool with some of the regulations the HOA needs to
enforce. If you are a pool user, please read these and
heed them as well. A sign has also been placed near the
entrance ladders to the pool and spa as a final reminder
not to enter either one before a soap shower.
The Spanish Dagger (Yucca Gloriosa) plantings at the
pool, which were lost to the freeze this past winter,
will be replaced in the near future.
Casa de Esperanza is holding an Ice Cream Social on May
7, from 1 to 4 pm at the Casa building on the La Posada
campus. The social will feature ice cream, toppings, balloons,
entertainment, raffles, prizes and fun! Tickets are $3
each, or 2 for $5, and are available from Melodye, at
399-0455. She will deliver the tickets to you. Casa is a
non-profit organization and the proceeds of this event
will go to the Senior Lunch Program, which helps Green
Valley seniors get adequate nutrition.
There is a green coffee container on the counter at
the Ramada for collecting pop-top can tabs. The tabs go
to help support the Ronald McDonald House in Tucson, a
temporary residence facility for out-of-town families
with children in local hospitals. Please save your tabs
and put them in this can periodically to help support
this worthwhile effort.
Have a good week. We hope you had a blessed Easter.
