April 18

Good Morning:

The regular monthly EE HOA Board meeting will be held today at the Ramada, starting at 1:00 p.m.  All residents are invited to attend. A meeting agenda follows this edition of the Memo.

Hot Dog Night this past Tuesday drew approximately 85 attendees. Thanks to our wonderful Hospitality Committee for coming up with something a little different.  As a special treat, there was some spontaneous entertainment provided by talented EE resident, and fiddler, Patty Adler.

Just a reminder: Free Coffee and Donuts at the Ramada on April 20th at 8:30 a.m. will be the last one this spring, so plan on attending. In addition to the usual selection of goodies, there will be a special pastry treat this time, courtesy of Bill Berdine and Stacie Meyer. This will be a good chance to spend some time with friends and neighbors before our winter residents leave for the season.

IMPORTANT:

We have been advised that we must get the problem of pool/spa users failing to shower under control.  If we do not, we will have to hire monitors for enforcement. That would require a dues increase to pay for.

The Board is therefor asking EVERY user of the pool and spa to help us enforce this rule.

If you see someone about to enter either the pool or spa who has not taken the required shower, please ask them not to enter the water until they have done so. Your cooperation in helping us to enforce this rule will save you money--and provide a healthier place to swim and recreate.

A curb number painter has been located who will paint or refresh your house number on the street curb in front of your home. These numbers are indispensable for quickly locating your home after dark, and in the event of a medical or other emergency, we would all want the ambulance or the police to arrive as quickly as possible. The craftsman is Chris Kimberly, 551-2715. He does an excellent job, uses reflective paint, and charges $10. We strongly suggest that all residents have this done. Even if you have had this done in the past, check the present condition of the numbers as they fade out over time and may need to be re-done.

Calling all bird lovers; we've been asked to include a reminder not to use bread to attract birds, since those attracted to bread are primarily varieties of sparrows that are in the nuisance category. They become territorial, flock in great numbers, and will wind up nesting on adjacent properties, leaving neighbors a mess to deal with.  If you like to attract birds to your yard, use bird seed, suet, and other commercially available bird treats. (To avoid running afoul of the Pima County statute which prohibits the feeding of wild animals other than birds & squirrels, be sure to keep your feeding stations inside your courtyard walls, to ensure that any seed or suet that falls to the ground will not attract other wild animals.)

A nude sunbather at the pool, mentioned here last week, has been identified as a resident who lives on Regalo. His name will not be revealed, but all residents are reminded once again to wear appropriate attire while at the pool.

If you receive an official-looking document in the mail, claiming that you owe the government a large amount of money and offering to settle for far less if you will send a check in, beware, as it is a scam. This fraudulent mailing is being received by some in EE. Just toss it out and ignore it.

We conclude this week's memo on a somber note, to report the passing of Ed Moreaux late last week.  We extend our heartfelt condolences to his wife Joan and the entire Moreaux family.
