Monday Morning Memo

March 16, 2015        Esperanza Estates        Green Valley, AZ

Gardeners Meet Today
At noon at the Ramada to discuss plans for plantings in Esperanza Estates Park.

Board Meeting Today
At 1 pm, at the Ramada.  Agenda at the end of the memo. Need we say more?

Fiber Artisans Weave Their Magic
Thursday at 1 pm at the Ramada. Relax, knit, crochet, chat and learn.  Newcomers are always welcome.

Someone Else Meets No Doubt
At the Ramada.  What did EE ever do without the Ramada?

Greg Gramstad to the Rescue Once Again
Men of EE can thank Greg once again for quick repairs necessary in the Ramada men's room.  Learning that the showerhead had come off, Greg donned his white hat, mounted his trusty steed, rode off to Walmart and returned to complete the repair in record time.  Thanks for rescuing us once again, Greg.

Soup's On
Bring your appetite Tuesday night for the Hospitality Committee's Soup's On Cook-off.  Be there at 4:30 to walk the taster's route and vote for the best EE soup chef of 2015. A measly $5 per person will get you soup galore, cornbread, crackers and beverages. Contact Marla Ries at 360-708-0855 on Monday if you would like to enter your culinary creation.

Everything's Coming Up Coffee and Donuts
Melodye Cooke and Kay Miller will be rolling out those donuts. Ken Miller will be slapping on the frosting, and Tom Cooke will be putting on the coffee pot.  Join your neighbors this Wednesday at 8 am at the Ramada for a caffeine and carb chat.

All This and Movie Night, Too
Stuff those tush cushions in that chair, sit back and relax with the Arts Club Wednesday night movie at the Ramada.  Kevin Spacey directs and stars in Somewhere Beyond the Seathe biopic of Bobby Darin. Remember "Splish Splash" and "Mack the Knife?" First (and only) showing is at 7 pm.  Your $2 donation is appreciated.  Thanks to Kevin and Linda Welsh for hosting once more.

EE Artists on Studio Tour
EE neighbors/artists Mary Conway and Joan Cawthorn are in the upcoming Tubac Center for the Arts Studio Tour onMarch 20, 21, 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 752 W Circulo Napa.  The artists are going to donate 10% of their sales to the EE Enhancement Committee.

Esperanza Estates Park Renovation
Jim Copeland
spent a few hours last week sanding and refinishing the picnic tables in the park, so you no longer have to worry about splinters.  He was assisted by his brother-in-law who was visiting from Minnesota.
Jim has received enough donations to buy a telescoping flag pole and a barbeque grill for the park.  A proposal to erect the flag pole and install the grill will be presented at the Board meeting today.  Jim anticipates the flag will only be flown on holidays, so the need for lowering the flag on windy days should not be a concern.
The Gardeners will discuss plans for plantings at the park at their meeting today.

EE Volunteer Recognition
Our spirit of volunteerism is what marks EE as a special place in Green Valley.  It is why our facilities are always maintained, and always being improved upon. It is why our hospitality and social events are always so much fun, and it is why we are able to do so many things together as a neighborhood.  It is why we all work together toward our common goals. Our EE volunteers have a special elan---we live here, and we care!
To honor our volunteers, the Board wishes to invite all of present and past volunteers to a special reception at our Ramada, on March 25th from 4 to 5:30, for beverages and hors d'oeuvers. If you are presently a volunteer, or have been in the past, then please come and allow us to say thanks for your service.---Tom Cooke

(Due to this memo's late posting, the Activities Calendar and Board meeting agenda have been removed.)
