Big Sale Coming
Bargains await savvy EE shoppers at the Enhancement Team's Patio and Bake Sale.  Gates open to the public at daybreak on
Saturday, March 7, and EE residents only can shop on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Donations of sale items and baked goods are still needed.  If you have items to donate, please contact Bev Brow at 625-7741. For fashion accessories or jewelry, please call Carolyn Acher at 625-4326 or (402) 440-7773. To donate baked goods, call Sandi Oster at 625-0039. If you have a truck or large vehicle and can help transport sale goods, please call Barb McCalpin at 867-8067. Baked goods should be delivered to the Ramada on Friday during the pre-sale or between 7:00-8:00 a.m. on Saturday. All proceeds go toward EE improvement projects. Help make this the best sale ever!

Book Discussion Group
The Tuesday Book Discussion Group will meet at 11:00 a.m. at the Ramada on March 3. Readers still have time to complete The Art Forger by B. A. Shapiro. As described on the book's cover, it "will not only keep you as entertained as any thriller but leave you with a new appreciation of how paintings are made, evaluated and understood--not to mention how they're copied." All are welcome.

Book Exchange News
If you have had your eye on a book that has been in the book exchange cabinet, but have not yet squirreled it away for summer reading, now is the time to act!  With the Ramada sale coming up on March 7, Cindy Krantz will be weeding the books on March 3. Books that have been waiting for a home over several months will be pulled and donated to the Enhancement Team's main fund raising event. This makes room for "summer reads" and new titles brought by our seasonal visitors when they return.
Stop on down and check out the Book Exchange cabinet located inside the pool area at the Ramada before you may have to purchase your favorite book on March 7!

Magic in the Moonlight
Wednesday night movie starts at 6:30 in the Ramada. Popcorn available, bring your own beverage.  A donation to the Arts Club is appreciated.  Plot: Exposing a phony soothsayer proves harder than expected when the debunker (an Englishman) becomes smitten with the purported fraud (a French beauty). This deft romantic comedy unwinds amid the gilt & glamour of the French Riviera in the 1920s.

Arts Club Project
Need an attractive decoration for your yard?  Come to the next Arts Club workshop on Wednesday, March 11, at 10:30 in the Ramada and learn to make a flower out of plates.  Please bring at least three plates of varying sizes for your flower and extras to share if you can.

Volunteers Recognition Event
The Board will host a reception at the Ramada on Wednesday, March 25, from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. to show its appreciation for the efforts of EE's many volunteers.  Appetizers, wine, beer, punch and soft drinks will be served. All EE residents are invited to come and honor the volunteers.

Need a Lift to a Ramada Event?
Our Board wants to be sure no one is left out of our wonderful social events.  If you don't generally attend because you are unable to drive yourself to an event, contact Kevin Welsh at 231-838-6851. He is organizing a group of volunteers who will take you to events and bring you back home whenever you want to leave.

Have an Atrium?
The Periodico is looking for photos of EE atriums.  If you would be willing to let us photograph yours to share with other residents, please contact Cynthia at cjsurprise@verizon.net.  Your photo will be anonymous.

New on the EE Website
Webmaster Craig Surprise will be updating the EE web site with photos from the Mardi Gras party and a copy of Marla's recipes for some of the dishes we all enjoyed.  You will receive a special notice when the site is updated.

Learn to Use Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs)
Could you save a life?  Thanks to the generosity of Enhancement, EE may soon have two AEDs: one in the Ramada area and another near the pickleball/tennis courts.  AEDs are designed to start a heart that has suddenly stopped beating.  The machines are easy to use with only a little instruction.  Instruction with certification is available on Saturdays through the Green Valley Fire District.  Phone them at 625-9438 for registration and fee information.  Instruction in CPR and AED use (free for GVR members, but without certification) is available monthly through Green Valley Recreation. Phone Maureen McCarthy at 625-3440x7224 or e-mail her at maureen@gvrec.org.

Let There Be Light!
Users of the Men's showers will be happy to know that Craig Surprise has installed a light in addition to the heater in the men's shower area.  Don't worry ladies, a heater and light are on back order for your shower too.

Solar Power Installation
Considering the installation of solar panels as an enhancement to your home?  It's definitely an option in sunny Arizona, but check with EE Architectural Control before proceeding--and keep them updated as your plans gel. They may have some advice to share regarding placement, or cosmetics of components, so don't hesitate to call Jim Lindberg (777-4972) or Joe McCalpin (867-8067).
Or, send them an email:  EE-Arch-Ctrl@esperanzaestates.net
