It's Board Meeting Day!
Reminder that the Board will hold it's regular monthly meeting at 1:00
p.m. in
the Ramada today. The Board will consider a proposal by the Arts Club to construct a
pizza oven in the pergola at Parque Felicidad (formerly known as the
shade tree park).
All homeowners are encouraged to attend. A copy of the agenda is at
the end of this memo.
Defibrillators
Immediately following today's Board meeting (approximately
2:00 p.m.) representatives
of the GV Fire District will make a short presentation on
defibrillators (AED's) and CPR training that is available through
the GVFD. The presentation and Q&A session will take place at the
Ramada. The Enhancement Team is considering purchasing an AED for
the Ramada.
News from Neighborhood Watch
Block captains can pick up their updated information sheets
following the
Board meeting on Monday.
2015 EE Directories
will be available for $3 from Mary
Beth Wallace at
the Board meeting on Monday
Gardeners' Meeting
The Gardeners will meet at the Ramada on Monday,
February 16, after
the Board meeting and GVFD presentation to discuss upcoming
projects. New members are always welcome.
No Tuesday Aqua Exercise
Nope, not gonna do it this Tuesday. We'll all be gearing up for EE
Mardi Gras. Come on Thursday at 3pm to work off all that bread
pudding.
Mardi Gras
Experience this New Orleans tradition at the Ramada on Fat Tuesday, February
17, starting at 4:30 p.m. This
amazing event is sponsored by the Hospitality Committee, and the
members have been working overtime to bring you a wonderful party.
The menu includes jambalaya (with sausage, without shellfish), muffuletta (of course, you know what that is), red beans & rice,
bread pudding with bourbon sauce, and Hurricanes and other
beverages. Cost is $8.00 per person. Wear a mask or costume if you
want. Please bring a donation to the GV Community Food Bank if you
can.
Coffee & Donuts
The Cookes and Millers will sponsor free coffee & donuts on Wednesday,
February 18, at 8:00 a.m.
Join
your neighbors at the Ramada for a casual social hour.
Wednesday Movie
St. Vincent will
be this week's movie on Wednesday night
at the Ramada. Note:
6:30 p.m.
is the new start time, since it's
staying lighter later. A $2.00 donation to the Arts Club would be
appreciated. Popcorn is provided, but bring your own beverage.
Plot: With his parents preoccupied with their divorce, lonely
12-year-old Oliver strikes up a friendship with his war-veteran
neighbor, Vincent. A hard-drinking gambler with a fondness for
hookers, Vincent finds his life changed by the boy's presence.
Yoga
There will be no yoga on Wednesday of this week. The group is
growing and chair yoga has added new members. Yoga is a great way
for almost anyone to get some exercise. It's not too late to join.
Genealogy Group Meeting
Wednesday at 8:50. Please meet at the Ramada. There will be
plenty of time for coffee and donuts before departing. Jim Copeland will
drive if you need a ride. Bring any information you want searched. Call Jim at 952-250-5399 if you have questions.
Make It the Best Ramada Sale Ever
The Enhancement Team's annual patio and bake sale will take
place on Saturday, March 7 at daybreak. We lucky EE residents can be early bird buyers on Friday afternoon from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.
But to make it a fantastic sale, we need more items. So, donate,
donate, donate! To donate items or baked goods, call Bev
Brow (625-7741)
or Sandy
Oster (625-0039).
To donate jewelry or other accessories call Carolyn
Acher (402-440-7773)
to arrange a time to deliver the items. If you are donating baked goods, please bring them to the Ramada on Friday during
the pre-sale or between 7:00 and 8:00 a.m. on the day of the sale.
Fresh Fruit Etiquette
A walk down the wash between the homes of EE often reveals a
bonanza of fresh citrus hanging outside our block walls. If
the harvest is exceptional a call to the Green Valley Food Bank
(625-5252) to schedule a visit by their picking crew might be in
order.
Good neighbors in EE are often willing to share this bounty, but
please ask first. A
disappointed EE resident recently discovered that the orange
crop nurtured and saved for a family visit had been liberated
from his tree. The grandkids won't be picking their own
breakfast this year.
Keith Sawin Remembered
EE residents who participated in the Esperanza Park mosaic
snake project will remember Kathy Sawin and her husband
Keith. Keith passed away Wednesday, February 11.
Condolences can be sent to the family at 9405 Howard Avenue
#268, Milwaukee, WI 53228. An obituary can be found at
legacy.com and in the Sunday Green
Valley News.
