EE HOA, Green Valley, AZ
Monday Morning Memo

February 10, 2014        Esperanza Estates        Green Valley, AZ

Bee Alert!
If you are at the Ramada or pool area on Monday, be aware that an exterminator is scheduled to work on the back wall of a home on Regalo directly across the arroyo from the Ramada. The bees may be more active and angry during this time.

A Hiking EE Will Go

Fearless Leader Marian Mundale may take the week off, but EE's hiking enthusiasts will head out to explore the wilderness again today.  Meet at the Ramada at 8 am with $2 carfare and water--to carpool and head to Madera Canyon.  Road conditions permitting, we'll park along Proctor Road and hike out towards Elephant Head.  Count on great companions for a couple of hours of fairly level hiking along a rocky trail in open sun.

Planning for Monday, February 17th?  Hikers will stick close to home with a stroll around the EE trail and a hike out to the crested Saguaro for the annual photo opportunity.

Hospitality Committee
The Hospitality Committee will meet at the Ramada at 10 a.m. on Wednesday to organize the storage area.

Sweet Soiree
Satisfy your sweet tooth and support the Enhancement Team at the Dessert Buffet on Friday, February 14, starting at 6:00 p.m.  Tickets are $5.00 and include the chance to win a prize.  You can purchase your ticket at the event. To donate a dessert (homemade or purchased) call Sandi Oster at 625-0039 or Marian Mundale at 625-2239.

Board Meeting Next Week
The next meeting of the HOA Board will take place on Monday, February 17, at 1:00 p.m. at the Ramada.

Bravo!
Give them a standing ovation. The installation of the acoustical tiles on the ceiling of the Ramada last week was one of the most impressive volunteer projects we have seen in EE. Our hats are off to the volunteers who spent hours working on this huge undertaking that will benefit everyone who attends events at the Ramada. It proved once again that when the call for volunteers goes out, our residents don't hesitate to answer. Our thanks and admiration for a job well done go to: Gary Anderson, Del Bean, Dick Carver, Eric Ellingson, Jim Fischer, Cynthia Gates, Hugh Gates, Bob Konrad, Al Prato, Bill Pratt, Marla Ries, Donna Shay, Terry Shay, Ben Sheffield, Stein Simonsen and Jim Sourant.  Thanks also to Jane Ellingson for providing lunch for this hard working bunch.

Kitt Peak Adventure
The National Observatory is right in our backyard.  If you have never visited it, now is your chance to tour the 4-meter and solar telescopes with our own knowledgeable guide Eric Ellingson. Join the EE Adventure Group on Saturday February 22 for the tour and picnic. Deadline for sign-up is Monday, February 17. Contact Cynthia Surprise at cjsurprise@verizon.net to join the excursion.

The Ramada Sale Is Coming!
The Enhancement Team's BIG patio and bake sale on Saturday, March 1 is only a few weeks away. Please donate your unwanted items or baked goods to help make this our most successful sale yet. Profits from the sale go towards the Team's many wonderful projects to enhance our neighborhood. Call Bev Brow at 625-7741 to donate items and Sandi Oster at 625-0039 to donate baked goods.

Keep Your Eyes Open
Sadly, another incident of theft of an object in an outside niche was reported this week by an EE resident. Please keep a watch out around the neighborhood and report any suspicious activity.

Road Maintenance 101
Want to learn all the "in's and out's" of road repair? Green Valley Council is holding a free workshop on February 13 at 9:30 a.m. at their offices located at 555 N. La Canada Drive. To reserve a seat, call 648-1936.
