Want To Move Rocks?
The EE Gardeners are looking for able-bodied volunteers to help move
rocks in the new common area spaces on Circulo del Norte. This work
party will follow the Gardeners' Meeting at 1:00 pm on Thursday,
January 3 at the Ramada. Willing workers with strong backs and work
gloves should meet at the Ramada at 2:00 pm. Or head up to the
park and meet the Gardeners there.
Dues Due--Did You Do Yours?
EE HOA dues are due January 1, 2013. Did you forget to send that
check during the holiday rush? Joan Moreaux is peering into the post
office box now, waiting for the last few to arrive.
Pool Closing Next Week
Eeek!!! The time is almost here. The Kool Decking is scheduled to be
replaced with work starting next Monday, January 7. Water lovers
and hot tubbers will be high and dry for approximately a week.
Suffering from Hike Withdrawal?
Do not despair. Fearless and Fleet-Footed Leader Marian Mundale
has been on the move scouting out the trail for the next exciting
excursion of the EE Hikers. On Monday, January 7, the group
will head towards the Whipple Observatory's Visitors Center and take a
short, side hike to a sweat lodge nestled in the mountains. This will be
followed by a 4-5 mile hike with views of the Santa Rita Cash Box
Formation. Hiking will be at or above the 5,000 foot level with an 800
foot gain. Trails are rocky at times with loose gravel.
Meet at 8:30 am at the Ramada. Car fare $2. As always--bring lots
of water and some snacks.
First Burger Night
The first Burger Night of 2013 will be on Tuesday, January 8 at
the Ramada. Socializing starts at 4:30 and grilling begins at 5:00.
Enjoy a hamburger, cheeseburger or veggie burger, chips, a pickle and a
drink for $6.00.
Come For Coffee & Conversation
The ever-popular, monthly coffee and pastries will resume this month on
Wednesday, January 16, at 8:30 a.m. at the Ramada. Thanks to the
Millers and Cookes for sponsoring this friendly, morning gathering the
third Wednesday of every month.
Mark Your Calendar for the Annual
Meeting
Mark your calendar now and plan to attend the Esperanza Estates HOA
Annual Meeting on Monday, January 21, 2013, at 1:00 pm at the
Desert Hills Social Center. Issues to be decided include changes in
approved paint colors, and election of officers. Ballots and notices
will be mailed out this week.
Did Your Dog Lose Its Hat?
A small size, well made hat labeled "Outward Hound" has been found on
Circulo del Norte. It will be hanging on the post box at 1106 Circulo
del Norte, thru New Years' day. Come and rescue it.
Food Bank To Glean Citrus
"Gleaning" is the rescuing and distribution of food that would otherwise
go to waste. The Green Valley-Sahuarita Community Food Bank will glean
citrus from January 2 through April 12. They have volunteers who will
pick the citrus at no charge to you, and deliver it to the Food Bank for
distribution to their clients. They also accept citrus that you have
picked. You can deliver it to the Food Bank at 250 East Continental Road
or they will pick it up. Donation hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30
a.m. - 2:00 p.m. If you would like to share your citrus, call 625-5252
to arrange an appointment.
Art Thou Interested in Art?
Wednesday, January 2, marks the beginning of the free weekly
Focus on Art lecture series at the Joyner Green Valley Library.
Docents from the Tucson Museum of Art bring art and information to our
local library at 2:00 pm each Wednesday. This week's topic is
Modigliani: Portraits of a Bohemian Life. Seating is limited, so early
arrival is recommended.
