Good Morning:

We hope you all had an enjoyable Holiday.

Coffee and Donuts at the Ramada was held last Wednesday morning and was well attended. Following the function, a nice sized group of volunteers went up to Esperanza Park, where they completed a significant amount of general clean up, rearranged most of the stone work, moved the fire pit to a better location, and refinished and moved the picnic tables to more shaded areas. The Park is now in excellent condition, and has been reconfigured to be a much more usable and useful space. This group is to be highly commended for their efforts at helping our neighborhood look its best. And stay tuned, as the EE Gardeners has big plans for the continued improvement and enhancement of this Park. Within a few months, you will hardly recognize this space.

The annual First Day Party will be held again on Sunday, January 1, at 1:00 p.m. at the Ramada. Please bring a dish to share and utensils. Coffee will be provided. This is an opportunity for you to visit with your neighbors and visit about the year to come.

Here is a note from Marian Mundale: I would like to plan our 1st hike of our second season on January 2nd.  We will plan on doing our visit to the Saguaro cactus in the desert.  Meet at 9:30 at the West Desert Preserve entrance gate by the tennis courts.  Any questions contact me by email at mm122169@hotmail.com

Lower Napa held their annual neighborhood luminary last Friday night, and it was pretty spectacular. Neighbors from Portillo all the way down to and past Regalo participated, and a garage party for the lookers was held in Mary Beth Wallace's garage. It was a fun and festive evening.

The recent mailing of the Annual Meeting notice and election ballot also included a ballot to amend the CC&R's to allow EEHOA members the choice of several additional trim colors.  Part of the amendment provides for rules to be established by the Board of Directors to control the colors and address any additional issues that might arise out of this amendment.

The document enclosed with the Trim Color ballot presents the PROPOSED RULES.  THESE HAVE NOT BEEN ADOPTED BY THE BOARD.  IF THE AMENDMENT PASSES, THE BOARD WILL MEET AND CREATE THE RULES TO GOVERN THE NEW TRIM COLORS. ONE SIGNIFICANT CHANGE TO THE PROPOSED RULES STATES THERE WILL BE TWO OPEN SLOTS IN ADDITION TO THE SIX CHOICES MENTIONED FOR A TOTAL OF EIGHT POTENTIAL COLORS.

Regarding the choice of colors, there is a palette of 12 colors on display at the Ramada.  Those who would like to help decide the four optional choices may go by and cast your vote for your four favorites.  Someone mistakenly added four more choices to the palette and those have been removed. Only the 12 colors painted on the board will be eligible for tabulation.

It is important to note that a 51% (179 votes) majority will be required to pass the amendment.

Have a good week, and a wonderful New Year.
