Monday Morning Memo---------------December 15th

Good Morning:

The Board has invited Brian Boyd of the Brinks Company to address our homeowners about home security at Sunset Ramada TODAY beginning at 12:30 p.m. Mr. Boyd is a noted expert on home security and preventative measures to protect your home from burglaries, such as the recent rash we have experienced in EE. The talk will last about 30 minutes. In view of our experiences over the summer, it is up to all of us to take measures to protect our homes and property from the thieves operating in this area. We learned the hard way how easily an area such our neighborhood can go from a virtual crime-free area to one in which at least 14 homes were entered and stolen from in just a few short months. Please plan on attending this important presentation. It is up to each one of us--we can be a victim--or we can take charge. We hope to see you there.

The regular December Board meeting will take place following the presentation by Mr. Boyd. An agenda follows this edition of the Memo.

People here are still talking about the two terrific events last week, the Enhancement Team’s Holiday Boutique and the Hospitality Committee’s Christmas Party. What a great community we have in Esperanza Estates, and how fortunate to have these volunteer committees who work so hard for all of us.

A small and friendly group enjoyed free Coffee and Donuts at the Ramada last Wednesday morning. This will be a regular monthly event from now on, so watch for reminders in these paragraphs. It will normally be held the second Wednesday of each month, but the morning hour may vary. There will be an experimental “Bloody Mary and Donuts” one day in the future, so watch for that!

The pickleball clinics will continue to be held each Tuesday and Thursday morning from 10 to noon at the tennis & pickleball court. Join us for instruction and good exercise.

If you received a notice from the HOA that your back gate needed repair or replacement, a contractor named David Figaroa can help. He is a long time contractor in this area, has the necessary licenses and qualifications, and can be reached at 404-7220.

Don't forget to sign up for the First Day BBQ and Potluck at the Sunset Ramada on January 1, 2- 4 p.m. Plan to join your friends and neighbors to welcome the New Year! Plates, cutlery and glasses will be provided. Bring something to grill, a dish to share and your favorite beverage. You will find a sign up sheet by the bulletin board at the Ramada, which will help the team know how many to prepare for. Questions? Contact Tess (625-7353), Geri (777-4972), or Barb (867-8067).

The Bunco participants report having and a good game and a good time last week. Watch for further announcements about future games.

Have a good week. Enjoy the outdoor Christmas lighting around our neighborhoods. Note especially the common areas (Sunset Ramada and the entrance monuments on Esperanza and Portillo) -- upon which our Enhancement Team has really gone to town !
