Monday Morning Memo-------------December 1st

Good Morning:

Be sure to remember our December 3rd Holiday Neighborhood Gathering at the Sunset Ramada, 9-noon. Many items for sale make an impressive display and are offered at irresistible prices. As part of the gathering we will also have a bake sale and we will have cookies, muffins, cakes, breads and other holiday goodies. Here is your chance to stock up for the Holidays. Also, this will be the last call for goodies for the bake sale this Wed.! We've had a very good response from our loyal supporters, but could use more bake sale items since we're expecting a large turn-out. If you get in the mood to bake , please call Bev Brow (625-7741), Tess Ewing (625-7353), or Barb Cottrell (648-3149).

Don’t forget our Hospitality Committee will hold its annual free Christmas Party at Sunset Ramada next Sunday, December 7, from 4 to 6 p.m.. They will supply all libations--drinks (alcoholic), mixes, soda, water, hot chocolate and ice-- AND lite hors d’ oeuvres, i.e. dips and chips. They ask that you bring your favorite hors d’ oeuvres to the Party.

As a highlight of the festivities, Fletchers will supply an organ, and Mary Beth Wallace and others will provide festive Christmas music. Wear your best Christmas attire, and bring your singing voice. It will be a great time, and a Christmas raffle will be held. Put this date on your calendar and don’t miss it!!

Now that December is upon us, it is the tradition in EE to decorate your street-light pole with Christmas attire. Help is available if you need it. For the sum of only $5.00, Melodye and Sheila will decorate your pole--if you have your own decorations. If not, then the charge is $10--which will include the decorations, which are then yours to keep. This charge includes taking the decorations down as well after New Year‘s Day. Call 399-0501, or 399-0455 to schedule. This service will be available from today until December 15, so schedule early if interested.

The pickle ball clinics will begin at 9:30 a.m. beginning Tuesday, December 2, at the tennis court. Clinics will continue Tuesdays and Thursdays at the same time. We had five new players on November 25th. Come and join us! It is a fun game and great exercise. Some new signs have been installed at the court, replacing some old “home-made” signs that looked pretty shabby.

Our GVCCC representative, Bruce Liljegren, recently attended a seminar on the problems of tenants living in HOA’s, and compliance with CC&R’s. The Board will discuss this to determine if any action is needed. Should you be aware of problems caused by a tenant, or a rental property in EE, please talk to any Board member.

We may have a sponsor for a permanent Coffee and Donuts at Sunset Ramada, regularly on the second Wednesday of each month. This will be a freebee, for the entire subdivision. Details are being worked out. Watch for more information to follow.

The Periodico will be out this week, so watch for it.

Funeral services for long-time EE resident Clay Crawford will be held December 5th at 11:00 a.m. at the Mormon Church in Sahuarita. A luncheon will follow. Directions to the Church are: go north on La Canada to Camino Antigua, turn right and follow the street to Camino de Las Quintas. The Church is nearby with the address 17699 Camino de La Quintas.

The following is the result of changes to Arizona law effective January 01, 2009 !
License Plate Holder Law - State law ( A.R.S. 28-2354(B.)) requires that the state name at the top of Arizona license plates must be visible. Any license plate holder or cover that prevents the license plate from being clearly legible, is in violation of this new law.

Everyone please read carefully! This new law takes effect Jan 1, 2009. Please understand you can have a license plate frame holder as long as it doesn't cover the name Arizona on the top your license plate, if the license plate frame holder covers the name Arizona , you'll receive a $130.00 ticket! This is your responsibility as privileged Arizona drivers to know new motor vehicle laws - the state doesn't send out mailings. For more info on new motor vehicle laws click on the link below. So if you have a frame holder that covers the name Arizona on your license plate, remove it before Jan 1, 2009 and replace it with one that doesn't cover the name Arizona. Have a good week---and don’t miss the Holiday Boutique on Wednesday and the Christmas Party next Sunday! We hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving--and found a bunch of bargains on “Black Friday”!
