November 8

Good Morning:

Remember, tomorrow (Tuesday, November 9) is the Hospitality Committee's monthly Hamburger Nite at the Ramada. Drinks start at 4:30, with table service at 5:00. Excellent hamburgers, Cheeseburgers, or veggie-burgers, table served with chips and a drink for the nominal sum of only $5.00. Come on down for a good time. This event is popular, and rightly so. Please bring a donation for the Food Bank collection bin.

Also coming up the morning after (Wednesday, November 10) is Free Coffee & Donuts at the Ramada, starting at 8:00 a.m. This is just a social time to meet and talk with your friends and neighbors, and have a cup and a donut free of charge. A great way to start your day. No meeting, no agenda, no axe to grind--just a friendly time together.

Our Enhancement Team has begun collecting used items for their annual Ramada Sale, to be held this coming spring. We are accepting clean household items and small furniture. For pickup, call: Bev Brow 625-7741; Lorna Kitchak 838-0653; Jackie Rautio 269-7864. This is the Team's major yearly fund-raiser, and remember, all proceeds from the sale are invested right back into EE for improvements and enhancements.

The November Board meeting will be held next Monday, November 15, at the Ramada at 1:00 p.m. A meeting agenda will follow next week's edition of the Memo.

Total of Food Bank donations at the Halloween Party was 75 pounds. We have received the thanks of the Bank for our help. The HOA extends its thanks to all who helped out. Particular thanks are due our Food Bank liaison, Don and Pam Bjorkman, who provide the bins and collect and deliver the items to the Bank. The plan is to have a donation bin at each HOA event at the Ramada, as in these times the Food Bank is stretched to the maximum to provide nutritional help for our area's population in need. This is one area where we can all help a little.

Pickleball has begun again for the winter. Games will begin at 9:30 a.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at the EE tennis/pickleball court. Gary Beatty, our instructor/coach is back with us, offering no-charge lessons and instruction. Fun and great exercise! Come up and join us. We had 18 players this past Sunday.

For those scofflaws (like this editor!) who make a left turn when leaving the Walgreen's parking lot onto Esperanza Blvd. to reach the westbound lanes, we have learned the Pima County Sheriff's Office will be doing a special "emphasis patrol" in that specific spot to issue tickets for that violation. A word to the wise: better clean up your act!
