Great Treats and Great Eats at EE
Halloween Bash
Last Thursday's party brought more than 80 residents to the Ramada.
Greeting old friends and making new ones took precedent over the ususual
rush to the heavily laden potluck table--well, at least for a while.
First place in the costume competition was awarded to Chris Amoroso
for his depiction of a Re-tire-ee.
Joanne Amoroso had 2nd Place in the bag with her Cloth Bag Lady
encouraging the use of reusable bags.
Further honors were awarded to Denise ("One-Leg") Roessle
for her Pretty In Pink Flamingo,
Lonnie ("Make Me An Offer I Can't Refuse") Borgmann dressed
as the infamous real estate agent, Al Capone,
guest Bill O'Brien a bad witch with a good costume, and Dan
McNett appearing as Tinkerbell.
Thanks, once again, to Madame Scottie Blum and the Hospitality
Group for a fine fall get together.
Budget Committee Part II
The second session of the EEHOA Budget Committee will meet today, Monday
November 4, at 10:00 a.m. at the Ramada. All interested homeowners are
encouraged to attend.
Burgers Are Back
You won't have to cook on Tuesday, November 12 if you attend
Burger Night at the Ramada, starting at 4:30. Cost of a
burger, chips and pickle is $6.00. Complimentary beverages are available
with your meal.
EE's Last Picture Show
The last four weekly Wednesday movies at the Ramada for 2013 are:
Star Trek: Into Darkness on November 6
Walk the Line on November 13
The Big Lebowski on November 20
Escanaba in da Moonlight on November 27.
Showtime is 6:30 p.m. Decaf coffee is provided, but bring any
other beverage to help keep you warm. A donation to the Arts Club is
suggested.
New Times for Learning to Play
Pickleball
Autumn is upon us and Courtmaster Kevin Welsh is announcing the
fall/winter schedule for pickleball. Beginners are encouraged to
join in Recreational court time beginning at 9 am on Tuesday and
Thursday and again on Sunday at 11 am. If you've ever
played a racket sport, you'll enjoy this smaller court--easier on the
knees--cross between tennis and ping pong. EE pickleball enthusiasts
welcome novices and will gladly be available for instruction. No
equipment needed; paddles and balls are available at the courts.
Experienced competitors looking for a challenge will be hitting
the courts on Saturday mornings at 9. Ladies only
rule the courts on Thursday at 1 pm. Need some practice time on
your own? Courts are set up for pickleball any time except Friday. Friday
is reserved for tennis.
Even Pessimists Can Enjoy These
The Optimist Club is having their fall Italian sausage sale. You can
order 4 lb. packages of freshly made sausage in either bulk or links,
regular or spicy. All proceeds go to support local kids. Contact
Kevin Welsh at 231-838-6851 to place your order for pickup on
November 16.
Brains to Spare?
Pima County wants to hear from residents about its Pima Prospers
comprehensive plan for the area. You can give them a piece of your
mind--if you've some to spare--at the Joyner-Green Valley Library from
10 am til noon this Friday. Call 885-9009 for more information.
Classifieds
Multi-family yard sale Thursday (Nov. 7) through Saturday (Nov. 9), 7:00
