Green Valley, Arizona

November 30

Good Morning:

Remember the Enhancement team's wine and cheese party and gift boutique this coming Wednesday, December 2nd, starting at 4:00 at the Ramada. This will be your opportunity to enjoy a complementary glass of wine and to browse a selection of gifts available for purchase. It will also be your opportunity to see and purchase a memorial plaque to your favorite pet, or a brick for a person or event which you wish to perpetuate, either of which will remain a part of the Ramada forever. Your purchases and support of this event will benefit the Team's continuing efforts to make more permanent improvements to our Sunset Ramada.

At the wine and cheese party, there will be a bin for contributions to our local Food Bank. The Bank is in serious need of help with food donations to meet its mission to help the hungry in our area, especially during this season of the year. Please help if you can by bringing a non-perishable food item to the party and putting it in the bin. Our Enhancement Team is strongly behind this effort to help out our neighbors and friends who are nutritionally insecure.

Please remember as well the availability of the elves, Melodye and Sheila, to decorate your light post for a nominal charge--$10 if you have the decorations and $15 if you don't (including removing the decorations at the end of the season after the New Year.) Call 399-0455 to schedule with an elf.

On Monday, December 7th, from 5 to 7 at Sunset Ramada, there will be a Holiday Party, sponsored by our Hospitality Committee. They will supply drinks, mixes, plates and utensils, and ask that you bring your favorite hors d' oeuvres. Hot chocolate and brandy will be available, and raffle tickets will be sold at $1 each or 3 for $2. Wear your festive attire! Also, please bring an item of non-perishable food for the Food Bank.

We are sorry to report the death of Tammy, faithful companion of Elaine McDonald --and the friendliest little dog in Esperanza Estates--of natural causes.  She will be one of the first memorialized on the new "Pet Post".

The Society of Southwestern Authors, Santa Cruz Valley Chapter invites you to a Local Authors' Book Fair on Saturday, December 5th, 1:30-4:30 p.m. at the Casa de Esperanza Community Center (across from La  Posada). Forty authors will display, sell, and sign their books in all genres: fiction, nonfiction, poetry, memoir, and children's. Admission is free and light refreshments will be served.

Have a good week. Hope you all had an enjoyable Thanksgiving. How about that rain Sunday morning? Please remember the Food Bank.
