Notice of Special Meetings of the Budget Committee
The board has called two Special Meetings of the Budget Committee at the Ramada open to all EEHOA members.  Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 10:00 a.m. to review all line items and set their budgets and on Monday, Nov. 10, at 10:00 a.m. to finalize all budget amounts, look at long range financial planning and have an opportunity for comments from the Board prior to final approval of the budgets at the Nov. 17th monthly Board meeting.

Book Discussion Group
The Book Discussion Group will meet at the Ramada on Tuesday at 11:00.  The book to be discussed is Calling Me Home. New members are always welcome.
Get a head start on the December book: Empty Mansions by Bill Dedman.

New Special Interest Groups Starting
Wondering what to do with your spare time?  Not a problem for EE residents.  And now you'll have even more fun activities to choose from.  Over the summer, Barbara Copeland compiled a list based on suggestions from residents.  If you are interested in joining any of these groups, come down to the Ramada on Wednesday, November 5, at 1:00 p.m. to learn more about them.  If you can't make the meeting but want to join, email Barbara at jlbrcopeland@aol.com.
Interest Groups: knitting, fiber arts, board games, pinochle, mystery book group, Arizona authors book group, male oriented reading book group, genealogy, vegetarian cooking, Qigong, yoga.

Big Hospitality Event
The EE social season will kick off on Tuesday, November 11, with a potluck in honor of our vets on Veterans Day.  Please bring a dish to share.  Soda (a.k.a. pop or tonic), water, beer and wine will be provided.  Following dinner there will be patriotic music and brief remarks by a few of our vets about their service.  Festivities start at 5:00 at the Ramada.  Donations to the Community Food Bank are appreciated.

Wednesday Night Movie: Chef
Starting at 6:00 p.m. at the Ramada.  Popcorn will be provided.  Donations will support the Crossroads Nogales Mission food drive.
Plot: When Chef Carl Casper (Jon Favreau) quits his job at a prominent Los Angeles restaurant after refusing to compromise his creative integrity for its controlling owner (Dustin Hoffman), he is left to figure out what's next.  He teams up with his ex-wife (Sofia Vergara), his friend (John Leguizamo) and his son to launch a food truck. Taking to the road, Chef Carl goes back to his roots to reignite his passion for the kitchen -- and zest for life and love.

Winter Pickleball Schedule
The weather may be getting cooler, but activity on the pickleball courts is heating up.  This is the year to learn to play or improve your game.  If you are in danger of becoming a couch potato, come on up to the courts at the west end of Circulo del Sur and add a little activity to your life.

Sunday - Pickleball Open Play from 9 - 12 a.m.

Tuesday - Pickleball Open Play from 9 - 12 a.m.

Thursday - Pickleball Ladies Only from 9 - 12 a.m. 

Saturday - Pickleball Open Play from 9 - 12 a.m. 
 

The courts are available to residents and their guests on a first come basis whenever there is nothing scheduled for either tennis or pickleball.  Please leave the restrooms as you found them and report any problems promptly to Courtmaster Kevin Welsh. 

Nextdoor's "Private Reply" Button
Nextdoor Green Valley Esperanza Estates has become quite a popular feature and a great way to remind people of upcoming neighborhood events, get recommendations, and sell items.  Here's a hint to help keep down the number of emails in everyone's email inbox: if you are communicating with the original poster on details (that aren't of interest to the rest of us) such as when you can stop by to see the item they are selling, use the "private reply" button rather than the "view or reply" buttons.  That will send the reply only to the other party rather than to everyone.
