It's Back! Coffee & Donuts! Yippee!
One of EE's most most popular social events starts up again this Wednesday
at 8:00 a.m.
Now in it's fifth year, free Coffee & Donuts is generously
sponsored by the Millers and
the Cookes the
third Wednesday of every month through May.
Stop by this low-key event to socialize with your neighbors
before you get your day going. |
To Prune or Not to Prune?
This has nothing to do with your digestive
system. The EE Gardeners are sponsoring a Pruning Workshop on Wednesday,
Nov. 19, at 9:30 a.m. at
the Ramada. Master Pruner Jane Ellingson will provide
instruction on the shrubbery in the Ramada garden. Everyone
attending should bring their own hand pruners, not loppers. |
Mama Mia! The Movie
Starring Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan. A mother, a daughter,
three possible fathers, and an unforgettable trip down the aisle.
Showing at the Ramada on Wednesday
at 6:00 p.m.
Popcorn
and decaf (nights are getting nippy) provided. |
Veterans Day Event a Great Success
Thanks to the Hospitality Committee for a
splendid event to honor our vets. A special thanks to Judy
Moulton for
putting together a wonderful and moving tribute recognizing all
the veterans, and to Don
Helms, John Levi, Mary Beth Wallace and Kevin Welsh who
shared their experiences in the armed forces with us. |
Who's in Your Family Tree?
Want to discover your family history? You may be
surprised (pleasantly or not) at who your ancestors are. Join
the newly formed EE Genealogy Group led by Joan Moreaux and Jim
Copeland. The first meeting is on Thursday,
November 20. Meet at the Ramada at 12:15 to
carpool to the LDS Family History Library in Sahuarita. |
Return of the Holiday Elves
No "Bah Humbug" heard here! EE has a long-standing tradition
of decorating our street light posts for the holiday season
from Thanksgiving to New Years. If you don't have the time,
or the energy, or you aren't here during the holidays, avoid
being seen as a Scrooge by enlisting the aid of
the Enhancement Elves. They will do your decorating for a
mere $10 if you have the decorations or $15 if you don't.
If you need the electrical plug-in to go in the socket in
your post, the charge is an additional $2.00, but the
adaptor then becomes yours. The charge includes both
putting up and removing the decorations. Deadline for this
service is December 15, so if you want an
elf to appear at your lamp post, call Jackie at
269-7864. They do extremely nice work.

Coming Soon to a Common Area Near You
The Enhancement Team will be turning our common areas into
winter wonderlands (minus the snow) again this year. All
residents are invite to help. Contact the lead decorator
for your favorite area:

The exact date and time to decorate will be determined by
each individual group.

A Small Tab Makes a Big Difference
Ellie Franz thanks
all the EE residents who have been contributing their aluminum
can tabs to the Tucson Ronald McDonald House. A green plastic
container where you can deposit your tabs is always out on the
counter at the Ramada kitchen. |
Median Green Project Clarification
In case there was any confusion, the EE group is
seeking to improve only the section of the median that runs from
Camino Seco to where the median peters out just before the turn
onto Portillo. Improving the large sections closer to the Villas
is not part of the EE group's plan. Contact Barb
McCalpin (867-8067)
with any questions or to make a donation to the project. |
Have a Heavy Foot on the Pedal?
The GV News reports that the Sheriff's
Department is using Green Valley for on-the-job training for
recent law enforcement graduates, and they'll be issuing traffic
citations. |
Sausages Are Stuffed and Ready
If you ordered sausages from the Optimists, you
can pick them up on Saturday,
November 22, from 9:00 a.m. to noon at Woodward
Construction at 620 W. Ward Lane. There's a map on the back of
your ticket. |
Congratulations Marvol
Marvol Barnard's lengthy
list of golf awards just keeps growing. The LPGA recently
awarded her the West Section's Marilynn Smith Service Award,
which recognizes outstanding service to golf in addition to
providing excellent community and charitable service. |
