Esperanza Estates

Green Valley, AZ

November 14

Good Morning:

The EEHOA budget committee meeting will be held today at the Ramada at 10:00 a.m.  All EE residents are welcomed to attend.

A pretty good crowd (85 people) braved the slightly chilly evening last Tuesday to attend the November Hamburger Nite at the Ramada. Many thanks as always to the Hospitality Committee for this monthly highlight. Our Ramada heaters got their first workout at this event.

Pickleball has started! Games will initially be held Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning at 9:30 a.m., and Sundays, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the EE Tennis/Pickleball court. Competitive pickleball play will be held Saturdays, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Pickleball Ambassador (as certified by the USA Pickleball Association) Gary See has agreed to act as coach and instructor this year, and will attend to provide instruction to anyone wanting to learn, or improve, their game. All are welcome to come up and join this activity, which is fun and great exercise, and the fastest growing sport in America.

Free Coffee and Donuts at the Ramada will be held again on Wednesday, November 16, beginning at 8:30 a.m. See below for a special event which will take place during this time.

EE artist Kathy Sawin has come up with a great idea for an EE community project to celebrate Arizona's centennial, which will occur in February 2012.   Kathy is planning on creating several ceramic murals depicting various aspects of Arizona. (An example of her murals is shown in the April 2010 Periodico.) She would like other EE residents to work with her on the project. Kathy uses broken ceramic pieces to create her murals, and we are asking residents to contribute their broken or chipped pieces (solid colors), or leftover grout from a tiling project. The kickoff of the project will take place at the next Coffee and Donuts on Wednesday, November 16, at the Ramada.

The Esperanza Gardeners were busy this past week, placing large blue pots at the EE monuments at the Sunset Ramada arch, and  the

entrance monuments on Portillo and Esperanza Blvd. The pots were filled with planting material, cacti, and succulents.  Be sure and go by and take a look, as these efforts to additionally beautify these areas has really made a difference. Hats off to this hard working and innovative group of volunteers.

The November Board meeting will be held next Monday at the Ramada at 1:00 p.m. All residents are invited to attend.

Dog walkers: Please be mindful of other who use the sidewalks and common areas and pick up after your pet. We are receiving complaints about this problem, and ask for your cooperation.

Many thanks to Greg Gramstad for repairing the termite damage at the Ramada cabinets. Greg is a fine craftsman, who has helped out our HOA on numerous projects in the past. Greg also installed a can-crusher for us at the Ramada, near the aluminum can repository.

The Board reluctantly received the resignation of Craig Surprise from his office as an HOA director. Craig has done superb work for the HOA, both as a Board member and on many other projects, and we're sorry to lose him. Craig has a skill-set which it is going to be very difficult to duplicate. He has agreed to help us on other on-going activities, for which we are most thankful.

Have a good week
