Monday Morning Memo

November 11, 2013        Esperanza Estates        Green Valley, AZ

Today is Veterans Day
To the many veterans in EE, thank you for your service.

Budget Committee Session 3
The third meeting of the Budget Committee will be held at the Ramada today at 10:00.  The Committee will discuss the five-year plan. All interested homeowners are welcome to attend.

Hankering for a Burger?
Burger Night is tomorrow, Tuesday, November 12 at the Ramada. Doors will open at 4:30 for beverages, and grilling starts at 5:00.  $6.00 gets you a burger, chips and a pickle. Complimentary beverages are provided.
Now that we've all been 'in denial' for almost a year (dating back to the '13 Annual Meeting) when Scottie said this would be her last year as the major domo of Hospitality, now reality is upon us.  After 9 years of hard work, month-after-month, our Hospitality Committee Chair, Scottie Blum, is 'retiring' for a well earned rest. Burger Night tomorrow will be her last event.  Please come down to wish her well 'in retirement'.
If you'd like to be the new Hospitality Committee chair, or if you have other ideas for social events, now is surely the time to come forward.

November Board Meeting
The regular meeting of the HOA board will take place at the Ramada next Monday, November 18 at 1:00.  Among other items, the board will consider a proposed budget for 2014.

Are You An Introvert?
That's what the Book Club will be answering at their next meeting on Tuesday, November 19 at 2:00 at the Ramada when they discuss Quiet: the Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking. New members are always welcome.

Walk the Line
This week's movie is Walk the Line, a chronicle of country music legend Johnny Cash's life, from his early days on an Arkansas cotton farm to his rise to fame with Sun Records in Memphis. Showtime is Wednesday, November 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the Ramada.
Decaf coffee and popcorn will be provided, and as always, a donation to the EE Arts Club will not be refused.

Do You Love Esperanza Estates? Show us why.  Send us a photo of something you love in EE and we'll publish it in the November Periodico.
The Periodico is always looking for photos taken around EE. Comical, beautiful, unusual -- we try to publish as many as we can.  Please send them to
droessle@mac.com.

Gardeners' Pot Drive (not the kind...)

The EE Gardeners plan to start a plant nursery and are looking for those plastic planting pots that plants come in when you buy them at a garden store. If you have any that are taking up valuable storage space in your garage, the Gardeners would be happy to take them off your hands. Please call Bill Berdine at 344-7301 if you have pots to donate.

Volunteers Wanted for Documentary

EE homeowner Paul McCreary is looking for people who would like to be interviewed on all sides of the subject of the Second Amendment. It is for a film project he is doing, and would take about 15 minutes of your time. If interested, contact Paul at 970-596-1505.

Lost and Found

A silver hairpin with a rhinestone decoration was found at the Ramada after the Halloween Party.  If it's yours, please call Pat at 625-7716.

Pat Sharpe has located the address for Len Barzan, whose wife Jeanne recently passed away.  Cards can be sent to him at 214 Priscilla Way, Redlands, CA 92373-6176.
