Packrats
Several residents have recently reported packrats
in their yards and garages. If you are new to this
area, you may not be aware that, while these critters
generally build homes under
trees and prickly pears, they also view car engine
compartments as choice real estate. Not only do they
bring in sticks and cholla joints, they may also chew on
the electrical wires and hoses while rearranging their
living quarters. Any cardboard and paper items stored
in your garage are very appealing nesting materials.

Go Slowly
October is the month many winter residents return to EE and
we know they are in a hurry to get here. We thought it
would be a good time to remind returning residents that the
speed limit on parts of La Canada was reduced to 35 mph this
summer.
