October 31

Good Morning:

Booo!!   There will be a Halloween Party tonight starting at 4:30 with libations, followed by a potluck feast. Spend some time thinking about a costume, since there will be a prize or two for the best, and use the provided liquid refreshment to loosen up your vocal cords for Karaoke.  If we all sing, no one will know that we can't carry a tune. Bring a dish to share, along with your appetite, and our Hospitality Committee will provide all else (plates, glasses, utensils, napkins, ice, and set-ups). The Ramada will be decorated in a manner fitting for Halloween--nice and spooky! So bring your ghosts, goblins, vampires, zombies, banshees, monsters, punkin-heads, and assorted ghouls, and come on down for a good time! We'll see you there!  Vlad (the Impaler) Dracula will be there, and we expect a surprise visit from a highly placed US Govt. official. Bring your shot-glass for trick or treating! This will be the best time since Moby Dick was a sardine!

All persons who have ordered name tags may pick them up at the party, but of course, if you are wearing a costume you may not want to put your tag on!  115 tags have been ordered since the program began. Not too late to order if you are one of the few who have not done so. See Melodye at the party, call 399-0455, or email her at melodye1@cox.net

SURVEY COMING

Last week in the MMM we addressed several important issues, one of which is the PRESERVATION OF OUR STREETS.  A significant amount of damage is being done due to the current configuration of our garbage collection.  This is one area where we can, as an association, make changes that will help delay the continuing deterioration of our streets, and is important because we have been advised by Pima County that there will be no maintenance or repair of our streets for many years into the future.   As promised, a survey has been put together to determine the level of interest in several possible solutions to this problem. The survey will reach you by email, and we ask that all residents take a few minutes and express your opinions on this serious issue. If we do not hear back from you, it will be presumed that you are agreeable to whatever solution the Board determines is in the best interests of our neighborhood.

The Water Aerobics group will begin meeting from 9:00 am to 10:00am on Mon., Wed., & Fri., due to the change to Winter pool hours.  Everyone welcome.

The  October Periodico is available on the website and at the Ramada. If you have not seen it yet, be sure and do so. It is a terrific issue!

A meeting of the EE Garden Club will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, November 1, from 9 to 11 AM at the Ramada.

Looking for Euchre, Mah Jong or informal bridge players. Please contact Paul or Becky at 970-596-1505, or  e-mail to: stay@mainstreethouse.com

We have a neighbor in need.  One of our Home Owners is having remodeling done and her house will not be ready until late November.  She would like to rent a place for 2 weeks beginning Nov 15.  She has 2 cats that travel with her - well behaved but still cats to consider.  Her number is 907-279-1368.  Please call if you think you can help her out.

An issue currently under study in EE is the shortage of storage space that has developed for HOA property and that used by our most active committees, Enhancement and Hospitality. Available storage has been pretty well maxed-out, and the situation is getting worse. This will require action in the future.

Have a good week.
