Green Valley, AZ

October 3

Good Morning:

The first of the popular Hamburger Nites will be held next week, Tuesday, October 11 at the Ramada, sponsored by our award-winning Hospitality Committee. Cocktails begin at 4:30 and grilling at 5:00. Cost? Only $5.00 for a hamburger, cheeseburger, or veggie-burger, chips and a drink. Served with a pickle. Come on down and see your friends and neighbors and get acquainted again.

Please remember as well that we have a continuing program of trying to help our local Food Bank, and will have a bin for donations at our Ramada events. The need for nutritional assistance in our community is great, and our help is needed.

All EE name tags that have been ordered are now ready, and can be picked up by contacting Melodye at 399-0455, melodye1@cox.net, or at the Hamburger Nite on October 11. Haven't ordered a tag? Not too late--just contact Melodye and she will arrange it. Your credit is fine and you can settle up when the tag is delivered. The cost? A nominal $6.00.

Sometime within the past month or so, someone backed a vehicle into the fence surrounding the tennis court, doing some damage. It was repaired this past week.  Exactly how this could have happened is a real mystery as the damage was done in a place that seems impossible for a vehicle to have accessed.

GVC (the Green Valley Council) has taken on the responsibility of ridding Green Valley of Buffelgrass over the next four years. At a recent meeting of the Board of Representatives they asked that all HOA's get involved. EE will be sending one or two representatives to the kick-off meeting  at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 7th at the Santa Rita Social Center in the Anza Room (2nd level).  They will be laying out the plans of Phase I and will need a commitment from each HOA. They will map out and inventory the Buffelgrass in our area, lay out  plans, answer questions, and explain the goals for our community.  EE plans on participating in this program, as we have Bufflegrass nearby and don't want it to spread into our neighborhoods.  Any interested resident is invited to attend the meeting and be a part of our effort.

'New Scam involves text messages' was the Cover Story of the latest Green Valley News & Sun E-newsletter; it describes the latest, clever scam for separating you from your money.  If you don't receive the E-newsletter, click on this link to read the full story.

Welcome back, Max and Lisa!

Have a good week.
