Budget Committee Meeting
The EEHOA Budget Committee will meet at the Ramada today, Monday,
October 28, at 10:00 a.m. to formulate the budget for the
upcoming fiscal year. All interested residents are encouraged to attend.
Halloween Fun Begins at 4:30 Thursday at
the Ramada
Time for the flock to gather to welcome back our fine-feathered friends
from the northland. Come as you are or come in costume to compete for
the prizes. Either way--you'll be welcome. Participants are asked to
bring a dish to share. Drinks will be provided. Please bring something
for the Community Food Bank if you can.
Ramada Acoustics
From President Ellingson:
"A meeting will be held on Friday, November 1 at 9:30 a.m. at
the Ramada to discuss all aspects of the acoustic noise level problem at
the Ramada and its possible solutions. All interested persons are
invited to attend and provide their input. We will be reviewing
alternative proposals for sound absorbing materials including cost,
effectiveness, installation issues and appearance. The objective of the
meeting is a comprehensive design and plan for proceeding with this time
critical project. We will also be looking for volunteers to assist in
the implementation of the emerging plan. This appears to be a
technically difficult undertaking and your help in making this project a
success would be appreciated."
Pool News
Winter Pool Hours (7 a.m.-7 p.m.) begin on Friday, November 1.
The Water Aerobics Group time will then change to 8:30-9:30 Mon.,
Wed., & Fri. until further notice.
Gardeners' Meetings
The EE Gardeners have started their new season with some great plans to
improve Mountain View Park. The Gardeners meet at the Ramada at 1:00
on the first Thursday of every month. New members are always
welcome.
Like to be Scared?
This week's movie should do it. The Crazies, a horror movie, will
be shown at the Ramada at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30.
Free popcorn will be available. Please bring your own beverages.
Thanks, Denise
Pat Sharpe would like to thank Denise Roessle for her excellent
work designing the recruitment posters for the Hazardous Waste
Collection Day.
Classifieds
The MMM is adding a new feature on a trial basis. We will list notices
by EE residents of items for sale or wanted. Listings must be brief (see
examples below) and will only be published on a one-time basis. Several
residents have suggested this feature, and we hope you will find it a
useful way to buy and sell items right here in our neighborhood. To
submit an item, email it to ee.mondaymorningmemo@gmail.com. Deadline for
submissions is noon on the Saturday before the memo is published. The
editors reserve the right to reject or edit any item in their sole
discretion.
Here are some examples of how listings may
read: "For sale: brown leather sofa in good condition. $250. Call Bob at
205-xxxx." "Wanted: electric golf cart. Call Bob at 205-xxxx." "Garage
Sale: Friday, November 8, 7-12, xxx Circulo Napa."
Pima County Property Taxes Due
If you pay the property taxes for your EE residence in two payments, dig
that notice out. The first payment is delinquent if postmarked, or paid
in person, after 5 pm on November 1. Paying the whole amount up
front? You can hang on to that check until December 31st without
incurring a penalty. The Pima County Treasurer's office encourages you
to pay early-- noting that the mail may not always postmarked on day
that you mail it.
If This Is Sunday, What Time Is It in
Michigan?
Planning to make that call to the family back in the northland to tell
them what great weather we're having here? Check that clock before
calling. The rest of the world will be moving their clocks back an hour
at 2 am on Sunday, November 3. Adjust your call time accordingly.
Ordinance 10.42.020 Parking Within
Right-of-Way
Not sure what that is all about? You may not be the only one.
Posted at the junction of Esperanza and Portillo, this somewhat
uninformative sign refers to a Pima County Ordinance making it illegal
to park any vehicle (auto, golf cart, trailer) displaying a "FOR SALE"
sign, advertising or goods for sale on any Pima County public road. Yes,
that includes the street in front of your house. The fine? $109 plus
$18.50 court costs.
