Green Valley, AZ

October 25

Good Morning:

Don’t forget the Hospitality Committee’s Halloween Party, set for the Ramada on Halloween, next Sunday, October 31.  It is a costumes-optional event, but prizes will be awarded for the best man’s and woman’s costumes. It will be a potluck, so bring your favorite dish to share. The Committee will provide drinks suitable for all tastes, ice, mixers, & set-ups. There will be karaoke, a fortune teller, numerous ghosts, goblins, banshees, other weird creatures, and a general spooky good time. No charge, and the function begins at 4:30 p.m. We’ll see you there!

Other upcoming events at the Ramada: Hamburger Nite, November 9; Free Coffee & Donuts, November 10.  Watch for further details.

The Green Valley Community Food Bank has reported EEHOA donations during the third quarter of 2010 to have been 143 pounds.

The October Periodico will be out shortly, so watch for it.  Enjoy the many new features designed by our new editor, Denise Roessle.

Our HOA Board voted recently to change our accounting firm, due to dissatisfaction with the former one. The Board needs to make financial decisions frequently, and can't do it without up to date financial data. The former accounting firm had developed the habit of being late with financial statements, and other tasks. Hence, the change. Board meeting minutes are always posted on the website, www.esperanzaestates.net following the meetings.

Last week we had the misfortune of having Stoney Brown issued a citation by a Pima County Sheriff’s Deputy for allegedly engaging in “criminal burning” while he was working to clean up dead weeds in one of our common areas. The claimed violation is totally bogus, as the state statute under which he was cited has absolutely no applicability to the facts at hand. We intend to fight the charge.

Have a good week
