October 10

Good Morning:

Remember the first Hamburger Nite of the fall season will be tomorrow night (Tuesday, October 11) at the Ramada. Cocktails begin at 4:30 (BYOB), and grilling at 5:00. Cost of a hamburger, Cheeseburger, or veggie-burger, served with chips, drink, and a pickle, is a mere $5.00. Plan on attending these always-fun events. If you have an EE name tag ordered, you can pick it up there--or you can order one if you haven't done so yet, at the nominal cost of only $6.00. Everybody who is anybody will be having an EE name tag! Don't be left out--be a fellow traveler and get an official EE name tag!  More than 90 EE residents have ordered one now, and you wont want to be left out.  The tags come with a magnetic catch, but have other types available if you are not able to wear a magnetic device.

Please remember the Food Bank donation bin when you come to the Hamburger Nite festivities, and make a donation if you can.

Two very generous EE homeowners, Paul and Kathy LaVanway, have made a donation to our HOA, and sent it along with their good wishes, to enable the purchase of items much needed by our Association. Watch for details on this in the future as the items are acquired. The HOA wishes to thank the LaVanways for their graciousness in this kind gesture of support.

Make your plans to be at the first fall Free Coffee and Donuts at the Ramada, to be held next week, on Wednesday October 19, at 8:30 am, and continuing until ? Stay as long as you like. No meeting, no agenda, no ax to grind--just some time with your neighbors and a cup and a donut (or 2). No charge.

There will be another household hazardous waste collection on Saturday, October 15, from 8 to noon, at the Presbyterian Church parking lot, 2800 S. Camino del Sol. Most household hazardous waste and medications are accepted. There is a $10 charge for TV's, but most other electronic equipment is accepted at no charge.

Board member Dean Hess and another representative from EE attended a Buffelgrass eradication seminar this past Friday. The Green Valley Council is undertaking a major 4 year program to try and eliminate the Buffelgrass infestation in this area, beginning with a survey to try and locate the main areas where it is growing and spreading. We have Buffelgrass near EE, in Arroyo Number 9, and possibly other surrounding areas as well. EE will be participating in the effort to alleviate this community-wide problem. For more information about Buffelgrass, check out this link: http://www.buffelgrass.org/

Have a good week, and a happy Columbus Day.
