Our Next Adventure
The EE Adventure Group will have its second adventure on Saturday,
January 25 when
we're off to Arivaca for the Arivaca Home Tour. Arivaca is a
quaint and quirky town, and its homes are far from cookie
cutter. Tickets for the tour are $10 and may be purchased in
advance at the Green Valley Chamber of Commerce on Continental
or in Arivaca on the day of the tour. Carpooling will be
arranged. If you are interested in going with us, contact Cynthia
Surprise at
cjsurprise@verizon.net. Our February adventure will be to Kitt
Peak on February 22, and Eric Ellingson will be our tour guide.
More about that later. |
Countdown to the EEHOA Annual Meeting
The Annual Meeting will take place on Monday,
January 20 at
the Desert Recreation Center, 2980 S. Camino del Sol (right next
to Valley Presbyterian Church). The meeting starts promptly at 2:00
p.m., but sign-in starts at 1:30.
Please remember to send in your ballot to vote for the three
candidates of your choice. If you mail your ballot, which is
greatly appreciated, you will need to do so in plenty of time
for it to arrive by Monday,
January 13.
Important note: Whether delivered by mail or by hand,
your ballot must be returned in the large return envelope with
your name and lot number in the upper left corner. This ensures
that each lot gets only one vote. The secrecy of your ballot is
protected by placing your ballot into the smaller envelope
marked "Ballot" and inserting that into the large one. If you
have not received your ballot, contact Joe McCalpin at
867-8067. |
Neighbor to
Neighbor
Nextdoor Green
Valley Esperanza Estates continues to grow in popularity and use
as a way to communicate with your EE neighbors. Whether you
want to sell an item, offer a service, get a tradesperson
recommendation or just connect with your neighbors in EE, Nextdoor is the way to do it. It's free, and you can sign up by
emailing our webmaster at ee-webmaster@msn.com. |
Memories
Light the Corners of Your Mind--Unless Your Bulb Has Burned Out
Experienced any
Green Valley Moments lately? Hunted for your keys or phone?
Tried to remember who the woman was in Safeway who had the
urgent message for your spouse? Then you'll sympathize
with Common Area Maintenance Guru Dean
Hess. EE residents tend to buttonhole Dean at EE
gatherings, the grocery store, as he drives around the
neighborhood and when he's out to dinner. That becomes a
problem later when recall may be less than perfect.
So give him a break, if you would, and e-mail, snail mail, or
leave a message on his phone--something for a later reference,
please. With 350 concerned homeowners to interact with
Dean has a lot on his plate--and not just at the buffets. |
Speaking of Remembering
Please
wear your name badge at all Ramada gatherings. If you need to
order one, contact Melody
Cooke at
399-0455 or melodye1@cox.net. The cost is $6.00. |
Enhancement Team's Big Sale Is Coming
Remember the big ramada sale coming up on March 1st. We
need more items to sell, so check your closets, under the bed
and where ever you store previous treasures that you want to
part with. For pickup, call Sandi Oster (625-0039)
or Marian
Mundale (625-2239). |
How Sweet It Is
The Enhancement Team's dessert buffet will take place on February
14. Tickets are $5.00 and may be purchased at the
Chili Cook-off or by calling Sandi
Oster (625-2238) or Marian Mundale(625-2238).

Coffee & Donuts
The next coffee & donuts gathering will be next Wednesday, January 15, at the Ramada at 8:30 a.m.
|
Pet Memorial
Post
Take a moment
next time you're in the Ramada to read some of the plaques on
the Pet Memorial Post in the southwest corner. If you've lost a
favorite "almost human," you can memorialize your critter with a
personalized plaque. Contact Geri Lindbergh at 777-4972 for
details. |
Ringing the
New Year In with Friends
Encouraged by a
perfectly beautiful day, sustained by the offerings of creative
chefs and eager to renew friendships, approximately 70 EE
residents greeted 2014 at the EE First Day Party. Thanks go out
to Jane
Ellingson and Mona
Sheffield for
organizing this great start to the new year.
Jane and Mona thank
all the people who helped them with set up and clean up. |
No Dumping
New signs have been placed near the sports courts reminding
residents, contractors and others that dumping of
construction, landscaping and other debris is not permitted. |
Javelina Alert
Recently, several EE dogs have experienced close encounters
with javelinas while out for their daily walks. Javelina groups
have frequently been seen patrolling our neighborhood. Make sure
to keep an eye out for them. |
