Sausage Fest
Both the Hospitality Committee and the Optimist Club are
gearing up for the Sausage Fest scheduled for Tuesday,
January 13th at
the Ramada. Social time begins at 4:30, with dinner at
5PM.
Your $6 includes an immodest Italian sausage on a bun (with
grilled onions, grilled sweet bell peppers, sauerkraut and
condiments), chips, a cookie, and beer, wine, pop and water.

Arts Club Meeting
The Arts Club will meet on Wednesday,
January 14, at 9:30 a.m. in
the Ramada. |
Creativity Knows No Bounds
The Fiber and Crafts interest group meets every Thursday
at the Ramada at 1:00. They will announce special
workshops such as the polymer clay class held last week. Otherwise,
bring what you are working on, thinking about working on, need
help on, or suggestions for new workshops.
All are welcome. |
Yoga Begins
Gentle yoga classes, led by a certified yoga
instructor, start this week at the Ramada and will be held every Monday
and Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. The
first class will be a get acquainted meeting with a few very
gentle warm-up poses. You don't need to bring mats, etc. to the
first class. The suggested donation is $5-$6 dollars per class
after the initial session. If you have any questions, contact Sharon

Art Auction
Many fine pieces of art (paintings, prints, jewelry,
yard art, turned wood pieces, leaded glass, etc.) and
other items continue to be donated to the Art Auction
fundraising event, scheduled for January
23rd. The proceeds from the auction will
benefit the Shade Tree Park, currently under development just east of
the EEtennis/pickle ball courts,
and other Arts Club projects. In
preparation of the Auction, the committee would like to
have every donation picked up or delivered by Friday,
January 16th to
the home of Marla
Ries at
852 Regalo. If
you are planning to deliver your donation, please give
Marla a call to make sure she is home (360-708-0855). If
you would like your item picked up, please call Joey

and one of them will be happy to pick up your
donation. The committee is very grateful for the
wonderful response to this fundraiser and looks forward
to seeing you all at the Art Auction, beginning at 4:30

Annual Meeting
Reminder that you will check in to the EEHOA Annual Meeting
next Monday by lot number. Knowing your number in advance
helps speed up the check in line. If you don't know your lot
number, you can find it on the envelope you received your
meeting materials in. It is also listed in the EE Name and
Address Directory under your street address. If you can't
find it, the volunteers at the meeting can find it for you.
The meeting will be held at Desert
Hills Recreation Center, 2980 S. Camino del Sol. Sign-in begins at 1:00
p.m. and
the meeting will start at 1:30 p.m.

How to Have a Birthday and Stay the Same Age
The Enhancement Team has found a magic potion to
help you celebrate your birthday without turning a year older
(offer does not apply to those born on February 8). The
Enhancement Team will hold a Birthday Bash on February
8 at 2:00 p.m. in the Ramada to celebrate everyone's
birthday with cake, ice cream, gifts, and games. Tickets
are $5.00 per person, and everyone is asked to bring an
inexpensive ($5 max) gift or a "re-gift". Gifts should be
wrapped and marked for male, female or general. You can purchase
a ticket at the Sausage Fest on the 13th or by calling Marian
Mundale 625-2238 or Louise McCabe 445-6237. |
Attention Library Users
Pima County Library will be making changes to its website on
January 14. If you are currently registered, you will need
to log on and re-register on the new website before that
date in order to update your information.

just what you need. Help make the sale the most successful

Riding Behind the Padre
The Green Valley Branch of AAUW presents author Richard
Collins who will discuss his book Riding Behind the Padre: Horseback Views from Both Sides of the Border on
Thursday, February 26, 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at La Posada Recreation Center.
Tickets are $10 and may be purchased from Lorna Kitchak (838-0653). Collins
operated a 13,000 acre ranch near the Mexican border. He
wanted to hear firsthand from those affected by immigration
and drug trafficking, so he embarked on a series of horseback adventures
along the Arizona-Sonoran borderlands. He also joined a group of Mexican riders retracing the pathways of
Father Kino who explored the same area 300 years ago.

Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event
GVC will be collecting hazardous waste on Saturday,
January 31, 8:00 a.m. to noon in the Valley
Presbyterian Church parking lot on Camino del Sol. Neighbors are
encouraged to consolidate their material with their neighbors'
to limit traffic congestion at the event. |
GVC Legal Workshop
GVC will conduct
an educational workshop on the legal aspects of HOA elections and
meetings on January
21 at 9:30 a.m. at Las Campanas Social Center, 565 W
Belltower Drive. Call 648-1936 to
reserve a seat. You don't need to be a board member to attend
this valuable meeting. |
