October 4  Pizza Party in the Works
Thanks to a few great neighbors, the first gathering of the fall is set for Tuesday, October 4 at 5 pm. Jane Ellingson has taken the Hospitality helm for this occassion. Pizzas will be prepared on site by the National Pizza Company.  Mark your calendar now.

Tom Hanks in Bridge of Spies on the Big Screen
Released in 2015, this Wednesday's movie will take you back to 1959. Tom Hanks stars as attorney, James B. Donovan, who finds himself negotiating the release of Francis Gary Powers in the U-2 incident. Be at the Ramada a few minutes early to grab some cushions in time for the 7 pm showing. Thanks to Jane and Eric Ellingson for hosting this showing; thanks too, to Pat Sharpe for loaning the movie out for the night.

Ramada Rooftop Fountain Idea Rejected
If you missed the Ramada demonstration, you can thank quick response by a team of EE residents. On Tuesday afternoon Louise McCabe spotted water pouring off the roof. Thanks to Tom Cooke and Frank McCabe the water loss was quickly checked. Ben Sheffield was recruited to reconfigure the system to get it back on line. We thank them all.
Thanks also go to Kevin Welsh for repairing the plumbing leak in the women's rest room at the pickleball courts.

Denise Roessle to Appear in Authors' Panel
EE's Denise Roessle will appear with two other local authors - Duke Southard and Mary Maas - on Monday, October 3 at the Joyner Library, 1:00-2:45 p.m. Hosted by the Santa Cruz Valley Chapter of the Society of Southwestern Authors, the panel will discuss THE HEALING POWER OF WRITING OUR TRUTHS. Fear, grief, anger and other emotions related to our life experiences that often keep us from expressing ourselves. Writing our stories can put us on a path of healing. Whether you're journalling to validate your joy or pain, recording your life's memories for your family, or writing for publication, this session will provide encouragement to begin and keep going. Free and open to the public.
