Monday Morning Memo

Board Meeting Today
The Ramada will have room for you, too, today.  So grab that fall sweater and maybe a cup of hot tea to ward off the autumn chill. There may be an enlightening discussion about lamp heads and bulbs. It's the EE HOA Board meeting at 1 pm today, Monday September 18. The agenda will be found way down below.

Wednesday Night Movie
This week's movie is Ladies in Lavender starring Judi Dench and Maggie Smith. In 1936, a gifted young Polish violinist from Kraków is sailing to America when he is swept overboard from his ship in a storm. When the Widdington sisters discover the handsome stranger washed-up on the beach below their house in a picturesque village in Cornwall, they nurse him back to health. However, the presence of the musically talented young man disrupts the peaceful lives of the sisters and the community in which they live. Showtime is 7:00 p.m. at the Ramada. Thanks to Jane and Eric Ellingson for sponsoring this event.

Thanks to Hospitality
A big thank you to Nancy Ferguson and the hospitality committee for a very tasty meal on Saturday.  We really appreciate the effort they put in to prepare for these events. The rumble of thunder and nature's light show didn't discourage attendance by over 50 people who turned out to socialize.

Safe and Secure Online for Seniors
Information security professional David Lyon will outline important steps to recognize scams and keep yourself safe online in a presentation at the Joyner Green Valley Library on Tuesday, September 19th from 2-2:30 pm.

Green Valley Hospital Update
John Matuska, CEO of the Green Valley Hospital, will present an update on the company's financial picture at a meeting of the Green Valley Council's Board.  Open to the public, the meeting will take place at the Desert Hills Social Center, 2980 S. Camino Del Sol, at 8:30 am on Thursday, September 21.

GVC Road Meeting Reminder
Green Valley Council has scheduled a road funding forum with our District Four Pima County Supervisor Steve Christy and Deputy County Administrator Carmine DeBonis.  It's next Monday, September 25 at 2pm at the Green Valley Recreation West Center.
