EE Board Meets Today
The EE Board will hold it's regularly scheduled meeting at the Ramada today, Monday, September 17 at 1 PM.  The members are all rested up from their summer vacations and are raring to go. All residents are welcome to attend. If you are a new resident, attending a board meeting is a great way to find out what's going on in the neighborhood. The agenda is at the end of this memo.

Wednesday Night Movies Resume
The movie this week at the Ramada is The Right Stuff, the story of the beginnings of the US space program and the first seven Mercury astronauts. There's an early start time of 6:30 PM. Thanks to Jane and Eric Ellingson for sponsoring this event.

Potato Bar
On Saturday, Sept. 29, the Hospitality Committee will hold its popular potato bar featuring a baked potato with all the fixings. Beverages and dessert are also included in the price of $8.00.  Come at 5:00 PM to socialize. Food service begins at 5:30. Please remember the Food Bank and bring a donation if you can.  The Food Bank bin is located in the Ramada kitchen.  Want a name tag to help people remember who you are?  Call Melodye at 520-336-8844 to place your order.

AARP Safe Driver Course
Just exactly how do you negotiate those two lane traffic circles?  Can you move into a golf cart lane to make a right turn?  What's the speed limit on an unmarked residential street?  The next AARP Safe Driver Course is scheduled for Saturday, October 20 from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Posada Life Community Services Center, 780 S. Fiber Arts
Fiber Arts meets on Thursdays at 1:00 PM. They'll meet at 160 Holgado while the weather is too hot to sit in the Ramada. Bring your project or just come by to socialize. New members are always welcome.

With so many residents attending our popular social events and the number of new residents who now live in EE, it's helpful to wear your EE name tag at Ramada events. Need one? Call Melodye at 520-336-8844 to place your order. Name tags are $6.00 and replacement magnets are $1.00.

Book Discussion Group
The Book Discussion Group has selected the books to be read for the coming season and members have volunteered to lead discussions. New members are always welcome.  Meetings are held in the Ramada on the second Tuesday of the month at 1:00 PM. It's a great group and we have some lively discussions.  The schedule is as follows: October 9, A Piece of the World by Christina Baker Kline (leader is Linda Sielken); November 13, Pavilion of Women by Pearl Buck (leader is Lynn Theder); December 11, lunch out; January 8, A Man Called Ove by Frederik Backman (leader is Karen O'Brien); February 12, Locally Laid by Lucie Amundsen (leader is Cheri Day); March 11, Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand (leader is Mary Ann Strauss); April 9, News of the World by Paulette Jiles (leader is Kathy Lavanway), May 14, Before We Were Yours by Linda Wingate (still looking for a volunteer to lead).
